Question about the V Star

On my 2008 V-Star 1100 it tends to stall alot at low speeds. I found this site:

and they have a clutch lever that I think might help the problem. Has anyone ever bought one of these, and if so, did it help?

My wife had that same problem with her V-Star 650, maybe Yamaha should do a recall...
Seriously though, like the other guys said... practice...
How you done the exercise where you get the bike going with just the clutch, no gas? The key is to let it out slowly and when the bike begins to move forward, hold the clutch at that position, don't just let it out. It's not an ON OFF switch... You will notice that you may have to "feather" the clutch... let it out, pull it in a little, let it out, pull it in a little... these are very small movements. Then you repeat the same thing while adding a little steady throttle. The key is the engagement point (friction zone) and holding there for a little while.
What can also help is adjusting the engagement point. In other words if the clutch engages with the lever too close to the grip it can be hard to regulate. Same is true if the clutch engages with the lever too far away from the grip. What's too close and too far? Depends on your hand size. There's a natural engagement point for every size hand. That's why they make that adjustable.

My friend who has a V-star 650 got this little spring and bracket/clip that attaches to the cable on the engine side of the clutch cable. It was only a few bucks on eBay - I think a guy on the V-star forum makes them and sells 'em or something. Apparently it takes care of this problem. Super easy install and he's had it for a few seasons with no problems.
I can try and get more info from my friend if there's an interest.
