Some say yes some say no
My first experience with one was the one that the PO of my FJR installed. It shorted out and burned on the last leg of my coast to coast trip. Turns out
that when it was installed the wires were not routed away from parts that can wear through the wires. So in short it was not the stator that died but bad install.
The FJR has a new electrosport stator, no problems yet. Knocking on wood

No.
I ordered a replacement from them for my VFR last summer. Installed it and then found out it was defective from the factory!
They were quick to send out a replacement and unfortunately, it only lasted a couple of days before it went kaput. I sent it back and got a refund which I then spent on a Rick's Stator. It actually worked.

I have used both Electrosport and Rick's stators with good results.
Both companies have very good customer service, in my experience.
YMMV

No
I had mine installed . Right from the start it didn't seem to be strong increase in voltage when my driving lights were on over the stock. Sometimes when I turned on my driving lights the voltage would not be the same as the last time. Within minutes of each other.
After about a year and a bit the voltage started to wander all over the place(with nothing extra running) I was planning to a trip out west so I had it swapped back for the stock one. In removing it it was discovered that one of the coils was burnt.

While a good many have been installed on GenI FJR's, there have been a few cookers, pretty much on machines with high loads, such as lights and clothing at the same time, working the alt to it's max. I have one, good for a couple years now, but I practice volt discipline as much as possible.

Thanks - It looks as it is kind of a crap shoot.
I appreciate the input.

THEY SUCK!!!!
I had one fail on me (not a year old) last May in grand rapids Mi. (ask Clay about that) on the first day of a 5 day trip. had it replaced at shumouts Yamaha when it was all done i had drooped 6 bills. fast forward to January, the past fall i have notaced the voltage fluctuating and would never get in the upper 13's. would run in the mid to high 12's. so i pulled off the cover and to my suprise look what i found, this is only 6 months old.
this is the one that failed in may
if you look close, the same exact coils are failing. to me there is a quality problem with there product and i will never purches any thing from them again.
just a note, the OEM stator voltage is at 13.9 to 14.1 rite where it is supposed to run.

I had one burn up on me after about 10 mos. they sent a new one, no problem, but I've never run the replacement hard since. I installed a switch to lose one headlight when I'm running heated gear now.
IMHO they're ok to use while getting your stocker rewound with quality wire, but I wouldn't count on electrosport.

Ricks is the other supplier with stats for the FJR, and they were reportedly surprised to hear that a stat with 100 watts more output than the stocker, while fitting within the same space, were lasting as long as they were. For quite a while, Electro was the
only
HO stat available, many (hundreds, if not thousands) were supplied, so either don't add volt using farks, practice volt discipline, or invent a better solution.

21 months on mine in my 2002 XX. I routinely ride with the high beam on and use an evest during the cold weather months. And run a GPS. And an air horn. 17000+ miles with no worries.
