+1 The roads are especially good north or I-80.

My plans are to put in a 300+ mile day on Saturday, hang out with peeps in the Days Inn lot Saturday night, and head to Mansfield, OH for a track day on Monday.

That's a really good weekend.

That's a really good weekend.

It's certainly something pleasant to think about as I'm shoveling my driveway every morning this week.   Lol

It's up in the air for me right now.  We're having company that weekend but since it's so close to me I may be able to sneak away for a bit.

I booked a room. Looking forward to meeting some of the STNers. I agree with Jammin Jere, come on spring! Serious winter blues setting in, I can't wait for some nice weather to ride around in.

Cool! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/th4eec30cd.gif

Anyone interested in splitting on of those "2 Double Bed Non-Smoking" rooms on 4/24 with a friendly, non-smoker, sometimes light snorer (me)?

$56.90 / 2 = $28.45/person

This is one of the few states that have Beer Distributors, you have to buy it by the case, or find a "Six Pak shop". Most bars will sell you beer to go as well.

I won't be staying at the hotel, but if anyone wants to meet for coffee in State College on Sunday morning and then ride to Denny's for lunch, gimme a holler.

I think I'll take the same route I did last year based on tips from Garry. In a nutshell: 550 to 350 to 970 to (some connecting road) to 153 to 879 to Denny's parking lot. Takes about an hour and half at a one-cup-of-coffee pace. Less than that if we drink two.

How come they don't sell beer at the local gas stations in PA?

Totally bizarre liquor laws in this state.

Beer distributors can sell cases and kegs, but can't sell you a six pack.

Restaurants (if licensed), bars and bottle shops can sell you a six pack or 12 pack, but not more than 12 (though a bottle shop near me will sell me 2 six packs, let me carry them out to my car, then sell me 2 more when I come back in -- maybe they'll all do that).

There are a handful of grocery stores that can sell beer, but only if they have a cafe with a separate entrance and cash register. They squeeze in under the restaurant rule.

It's really dumb. There's no serious logical reason for things to stay this way. The beer distributor lobby is pretty strong, though, and they sure don't want to lose their niche to the free market. The bottle shops and restaurants back them up in some ways because they don't want to lose the business to grocery and convenience stores.

The Sheetz gas station chain really wants in on the beer sales business and they're fighting every way they can. One of the more public ways is to have a public petition on the web. If you want to buy your beer at gas stations, you can sign it at:
http://www.freemybeer.com/

Oh -- and hard liquor and wine has to come from state owned liquor stores.
