The seller brought it over last night. Now if this snow would just go away (and don't bother suggested studded tires, they're expensive!)

Nice find.

Studded tires are cheap if you just want to go out and not slip around on trails or in your yard. Just put sheet metal screws in them, that's all I did. I used about 900.

Yep...they're fast and don't put your foot down when you lose the front end at speed: torn ACL's suck. Bash

However, it easy to change out the top end.  Thumbsup

Now what the hell does this do?

Great bike!

yes, I know. I was looking for a 125 2-stroke or a 250 4 stroke, and had a little too much frustration with sellers who thought their bikes were worth too much. Saw a few bikes that looked awful fishy too.

I had been kidding around with a coworker who was trying to sell this bike to me about what I was willing to pay. And then when he found his next bike, all of a sudden he was willing to take what I offered. Hrmmm. But he tossed in some spares, I will be riding with him maybe most of the time too, so there were some trade-offs. Hopefully my track experiences has taught me a thing or 2 about throttle control. At least until I say "let's see what this sucker will do!"

We've got some private tracks and some OHV trails within easy driving distance. Trackdays will probably lose out some this year.

Jon,

Check your gearing, especially if you go to some HOV trails. Stock my CR was geared to go very fast on an open MX track. Most of the tracks around here are little practice tracks. I was never outta 3 gear. If you go up to a 54-56 on the back and up one tooth on the front, it makes it a little better. When I only changed the rear gearing, I was fighting to keep the front down. Have fun. It's a blast to go beat the heck outta yourself and the bike.

Long live the 2-strokes!

Love my YZ250 smoker.  Wet and/or snowy yard is a great place for throttle-control practice.  Have fun with it.

I like the juxtaposition of the GSXR with tire warmers and the snowy knobbies.  Smile
