Alright R5, The second annual Twisty Butt Arkansas "All Day" 500 is on. 500+ miles of the best twisties in Arkansas.

April 3rd on a Saturday, the ride starts and ends in Clinton, Arkansas.

If you can do this ride in 12 hours or less you will earn a TBA certification.  Last Halloween 12 riders started the 518 mile run, 8 finished, 4 did the route in 9 hours, thats about a 57 MPH overall avg on non-stop twisty roads, how can you have more fun than that!

If your an "All Day" twisty kinda rider, you might like this ride!

Check out the route at http://www.twistybutt.com/AAD500.html

or go to www.twistybutt.com to sign up or get more information, or post up here with any questions.

Here is a pic of the certificate.
The decal (the logo on the certificate) is about 3.5 inches in diameter with a weatherproof coating.

After this crappy winter, certainly someone desires to play all day in the twisties in April???

I'm gonna try and join in the fun this time.  It would be a 700 mile day for me after the 100 mile commute to Clinton. Bigsmile

We will be staying at The Best Western Hillside Inn in Clinton. The ride leaves from here as well. If you want to stay make you some reservations and you want have to ride up that morning.

As tradition would have it, last year on the following Sunday, We (me, Mark and Chris) went up and rode Push back and forth 6 or 7 times, ate lunch in 56, then all headed home. So if your not in a hurry to head out on Sunday, we got some more riding to do!

Now that sounds like a plan!  I can usually have lunch at 56 and then take the long way home and make it by dark.

I would love to do this ride but the timing is off for me.   Sad

However, I am planning a trip to AR during April 30-May 3 and would like to use your route while I'm up there.   Is it possible to do an IBA style certification?  In other words, can a person submit receipts, etc to prove they completed the route within the given time frame to earn the TBA certification on their own, or does it have to be during a TBA planned event?

Either way, I'm most likely going to attempt the AAD route...it looks like a winner.

Yep...that is possible.   We are creating instructions and a route sheet with POP locations that will make TBA verifications and rider completion of paperwork less of a hassle.   Afterall, the enjoyment of zippin'  "all day" in prime twisties is what this is all about...not a bunch of  details to contend with!   There will be just enough to verify actual completion so no posers can sneak in and attempt to claim membership.  Once completed, we will get the info to you should you decide to give it a go.

Just FYI route info.... transition miles(sections of road that are not real twisted and require concentration and smooth operation) only total about 15!  Thats a mile here, a quarter mile there, etc.    You will have a blast if 'all day' twisty is what you are after!

Route sheets are now posted on the TBA site.    Just go to the Arkansas All Day event and click on the route/pop sheet 1 and/or 2.
