I've just brought my best friends bike home to try and sell. Unfortunatly he died in september, but his wife has asked for my help on selling the bike.

I had been trickle charging the bike and riding it once a month, but I went down to get it today and it was dead. So I used his Diehard charger/starter to try and jump the bike. I turned the key and the lights came on....instrument cluster lit up...then an eratic flashing and ALL went dead.

Did I blow a main fuse somewhere? The fuses under the seat all appear to be fine?!?!?

Why is it now DEAD dead?

Make sure the connections on the battery are clean and tight. If they appear good, check the battery with a multi-meter and plan on pulling the battery to get it tested. If it has been sitting for some time and/or is an old battery, it may have gone beyond the charger doing any good. Always starting with the simple stuff has been best for me.

Good luck.
