Got my new VIN today!
My bike is now officially the only 2010 VFR800 in the world!!!!!!
(and I've got the paperwork to prove it!
In other news, I got my lights mounted, the fuel filler cap, and my nifty Carbon Fibre twig 'n berries protector.

Looking great! You may be riding in 2010, if you keep up the feverish pace!

Wheels are going to stay black and silver for the time being.
Come winter I think I'm going to do the swingarm and rear wheel black to match.
Got an appointment Tuesday to have the bike safetied at the local independent Powersports dealer to satisfy my insurance company, so I have to get all the loose ends tied up on the weekend because I have to work Monday.

"feverish pace"?
Well, I DO have to work sometimes, and I've got other stuff to attend to on my days off, so it's not progressing as fast as I would like.

Got the gauge surround plastic mounted, the mirrors, and the LH lower fairing, just to see how it would look.
I'm cheating as the center "V" fairing is not in, nor is the RH lower fairing.
Still have to deal with the bent centerstand and refit the exhaust as well as reconnect everything underneath the fuel tank.
But I LIKE IT!

Finished with the exhaust system and it lines up better then it did before the accident!
It used to be slightly off to the right, which offended my sense of symmetry, but now, it's darn near centered!
Now I just have to lift the fuel tank, hook everything up under there, put some petrol in it and hear that lovely cam gear whine!

Rob... That is looking totally sweet. Take a bow. Nothing like it.
Hey, I'm with Miguel and 1-2 others on a long ride tomorrow. I'm sure he will probably take pics of his new baby at the top of some of the passes we'll be riding.

Tomorrow I have to work, just the one day, then connect the fuel tank is the last thing to do. Fill it with petrol and off to get an inspection Tuesday for my insurance company so I can get back on the road.
As for riding the passes, colour me jealous. No mountains within about 3 hours from here.

Rob... A good ride today with HS and Reddog. Will probably see pics at VFRD later. You know, your bike is coming along super well. How about you?

Steve, here's an update:
http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/54570-titanium-connecting-rods-oh-my-update-260610/page__view__findpost__p__716498
Went for a mountain bike ride today, though I'm sticking to the kindergarten trails, no rough stuff.
I'm seriously underutilizing the MTB, but hey, it's exercise for my chicken leg and cardiovascular system.
I was sitting on the bike today shifting gears while on the centerstand, and I can upshift just fine, but downshifting is a problem.
I cannot flex my foot up high enough over top of the shifter to downshift while keeping my foot on the peg.
Basically I discovered that I must completely remove my foot from the footpeg and then tap a downshift, then put my foot back on the peg. THAT'S going to take some getting used to. Oh well, could be worse.
