Oui, Tyga Racing for the RC51. I like it better because it has the Fat Lip, where other fenders are almost razor-sharp.

Magical Racing also makes a nice one with the Fat Lip, and also an RC211V replica fender to fit the RC51, but they are VERY expensive.

The MR 211V repro item wraps around the sliders, which I think would protect them from road debris.

My '07's fender developed cracks on the allen screws (I overtorqued--shame on me).  

It's $150 for a new OEM fender.  I could just fix the cracks but I really like your CF fenders.  What's your address?   Lol

Uh oh, look what happened  EEK!

Stator cover painted Wrinkle Black to match clutch cover (stator cover was looking quite ratty, no crash damage, just 13 years of ugly).

And besides, I had a half a can left over.


Also radiator fan bracket was a bit sad, and beat up from road debris, so it got bead blasted as well but painted gloss black instead.

Hanging by the heat vent in the basement, drying nicely.



Waiting on my straight EBAY rad to arrive, and be painted, to replace the one tweaked in the wreck of '09.

What?  You have a girl in the garage?  Pics please.   Razz

My problem is that I can't seem to devote enough time IN the garage to work on mine.  There's the pesky desk job so weekends are the only time.  Come the weekend, someone or something always seems to want me to divert my attention.  Either that, or it's sunny as hell and dry so I can't resist riding.  

I'm supposed to do the 2nd valve inspection for my Buell.  I had plans to do that this weekend but of course, my in-laws showed up, friend wanted to have lunch, the sun came out, so all I was able to do was change the oil.  I did recently finish the tune up on my VFR800 two weekends ago so that's cool.

Dammit Dammit Dammit. I just broke the top of my thermostat housing putting it together.

Put in new O-ring, the thermostat seemed to be properly aligned and flush with the lower housing, started tightening the bolts, alternating between the two, and didn't even approach the correct tension and


SNAP!



One of the two ears on the top housing snapped off completely.

I was just holding it gently and snugging it up gingerly in preparation to actually tightening the bolts down. I dunno if the thermostat shifted inside or what. I've had it apart before no problems.

Arrgh, I didn't need this today.

I just now ordered an entire housing off EBAY just now, it's from a 2007 and in nice shape. The tops are identical from 1998 to 2009, but the bottoms are different, probably an extra line for the wax unit.



Oh well, I got my new stator installed, the cover put on, the wiring routed, and at least I can put the countershaft sprocket cover back on and the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder, then I'm out of things to do.

I was really wanting to get the cooling system finished up, so that I could put the throttle bodies on tomorrow and fill her up with oil and start it up to check the charging system output with the new stator.


Grrrrr.

After the setback, I gathered myself back up and installed the few pieces that I could.
 
New stator from TightWad at wiremybike.com inside the freshly painted cover, it was looking kinda ratty from years of weather:
 


I also had dismantled, masked and sandblasted the countershaft sprocket cover and the clutch master cylinder.
 
Cleaned everything up inside and out, removed the piston and seal, then baked the parts afterwards to cure the paint, then reassembled.

 I figured since I was painting the stuff on the left side, it should match the clutch cover on the right, and well, I had the paint left over so......
 


The replacement EBAY radiator is painted and installed, the original was tweaked quite a bit in the accident of '09:
 


New brake line fittings installed. I went with domed allen head fasteners in steel. I don't trust the aluminum ones.

Hitting setbacks are a real PITA.  I would tell you about mine on my Buell but it's not as glamorous as your build up.  I'm struggling to finish the 2nd valve inspection on my 1125R due to laziness and this great SoCal weather we're having!

Since getting the bike back on the road last week, I wound up working almost every day since then.

Weather was co-operative today, and I have (1) whole day off, so I went for a spin.

Bike really needs a good thorough scrubbing and waxing, basically all I did was quickly hose the dust off, and blow-dry it by riding fast!


Went for a spin to the lake, not much happening there, at least until the May Long Weekend, then the place will be packed.

Took a few shots, trying to accidentally catch a good angle, but hey, it's a damn Iphone, it only gets so good. Sorry.

Anyhow, this is the latest winter's efforts. Powdercoated swingarm, valve covers, all new brake/clutch lines, and a fresh rear tire.

Also got my coolant leak all banished, so no more slight weeping in the middle of the damn engine anymore.
