I say get a cushioned seat and stop torturing the family jewels!   Crazy

Sure, they're upside down, but if that's what works for the rider in terms of rise, pullback, etc., why not?

Yes, I believe you're right.  And yes, I think it looks somewhat odd, but not awful.  Without rear-set pegs, it would be a somewhat uncomfortable riding position to mount them normally.  However, I'd favor a different bar style for this result.

I used to work at a chopper shop in the early '70's. They called these bars "Z-bars" I think. Usually mounted on dog-bone risers. I salvaged  mine from a crashed bike, and mounted them upside-down on my Triumph 500 for a "cafe" look. Thought we had invented this application.

I want a pair for my Sportster but the bars should have 'dimples' for the wiring. If they are supposed to be mounted that way the dimples would be on the wrong side of the bars. I'll have to make a call I guess.

Pics of Triumph please....

Used to see lots of guys run them that way on the old jap standards (CB, GS, KZ, XS).  I prefered the "superbike" bar myself - lots more leverage for that 19" front tire.

I had a bike with clubmans mounted like that, it was probably one of the most comfortable set ups that I had.

I ran clubmans set up just like like on both of my V65 Magna's, my back couldn't deal with the buck horn bars that came stock. Just enough forward lean that the wind would support you at interstate speeds and around town you sat up straight enough that it was still comfortable.

As far as the dimples go, I've never found aftermarket bars that had the holes in the right location so I always ground the nipples off. A wrap or two with electrical tape and everything was snug enough not to move.
