I'm right there with you.  I've never done a tire either, so I am expecting others to either guide me or for me to help them in whatever way I can...

Considering that my front wheel is still nice and shiny, the sound of "No Mar" and adding "rubber to the grips" is appealing... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/clapping.gif

I'm 90% sure I'll be there so I'll try to figure out a way to strap my NoMar bar to the bike. Come to think of it, I'll be up in that area in the next 5 days so I'll take it up and leave it with Colleen.

If I wanted to hardwire my GPS and radar to the fuseblock, what would I need to bring? I plug both into the dash outlet now with the supplied power cables. Do I need any special cabling to do that?

If you don't want to cannibalize your existing device connectors, removing the existing plugs and splicing on new 12v wire, you might want to buy some new new device connectors with long cables.  The problem with running dedicated lines from your fuseblock is that the wires/connectors become a permanent part of the bike, dedicated to those specific devices.  Adding a second power outlet by the dash would be more flexible, so you change devices in the future.

Glad you got radar now!

I was thinking of just ordering one, so I could just have it drop shipped to her and bring it back after the tech day.

Either way works for me but let me know before Sunday night. Looks like I will be in Northern NJ for the day on Monday.

Actually, they raised the price of their bar, so adding in some of the things I'm looking for, it's more cost effective to just buy the Cycle Hill tire changer base package (which includes the NoMar spin bar), Yellow Thing, the Harbor Freight balancer, and call it a day.

I'm pondering whether or not to do it. I can't afford to do that and a few other things I have in mind, so the pondering is ongoing.

The Harbor Freight tire changer I have is less robust than I'd hoped it would be. I've done 4 sets of tires on it so far, and while it works (as you know), it's less than optimal. Some of the geometry on it just sucks. Fortunately, I got it during a sale (and it sat in the corner of my garage for almost 2 years before I set it up  Embarassment ). For now it's working fine. Their spin bar is complete and utter crap, though. It's completely useless because it damages the aluminum rims.  Thumbsdown Crap, crap, crap. I scraped up my Sportster rims a little bit before throwing the HF spin bar across the garage in frustration. The spin bar is only used as a lever for bead breaking. It's just not suitable for anything else. I've tossed it in the corner of the garage and now I just use spoons. Thumbsup It's a better overall solution than trying to use their spin bar and tear up the rims.  Thumbsdown

So if you're heading up that way, it's probably more time-effective to drop off your bar.  Thumbsup

Cool!  http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Happy/ththumbup.gif I saw (via the tracking number) that it was delivered.

If you are bored, you could open the box and make sure that it's a 110/80R17 -- I'm sure mistakes happen.

Just a quick question. Is there going to be a final list on number of fellow riders and their needs to see if everything can be done in a day on all the bikes?

Plus I can bring some burgers and stuff in the food department if need be.

Collen I will be looking to drop ship tires. Anyone have a good online place to buy.

Someone have a balencer??

(I went out this past weekend and my plug tire is ready and afterlooking at the front reel good I say no wonder why my bike turns like crap because of wear pattern.

I was getting my tires from SW Moto as well until I found Two brothers. I got a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2 with a B rated rear for $270 shipped. SW Moto wanted $320 for the same set.

You do have to call them to order the tires though, no internet shopping cart.

Are you talking a separate, auxiliary fuse block?  Or just running them off the stock fuses?  I prefer to use a separate fuse block, run straight off the battery (usually with a relay) to wire all the farkles to.
