Just thought I'd share an accomplishment with you folks.  On Monday at 6:25 am my son and I left Lexington, NC on our first Iron Butt ride.  In a nutshell we rode south to Columbia, SC, west to just outside of Atlanta, south through Macon and into Lake City, Florida, across toward Jacksonville, then back north into SC, over to Columbia and back home.  We got back to the house at 1:15 am having covered just short of 1100 miles in 18 hours and 50 mins.

It was an experience to say the least.  When we started the temperature was 32 degrees, it got as high as 75, and was back in the low 40's on our return.  We encountered some sprinkles on the way to Columbia but other than that we had a beautiful day to ride.

The best part though is that we did it together and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Working on a ride report right now.  I'll probably post it on my blog and provide a link to it.

I get a little... long winded.

The ride report along with a few pictures for our SS1K is posted on my blog.  It's kind of a long one, but it was a long ride!

Thanks!

But I must confess...  I wrote it the next day/evening and used my numbered fuel receipts as crib notes.  Bigsmile
