I can see 140 on a certain piece of road.

Who else opens it up?

I don't recall going more than around 100 on the ST. Even then it wasn't for very long.
I don't know if the KLR would have broken the ton, I regularly got it to 80 or so on the highway.

A KLR would do about 90. I know because my XT600 said so.

Let's get our top speed freak on.

GPz900R Ninja. Indicated pegged and still running. Prolly about 155. Dude riding a K100 something-or-other told me I was walking his ass, and he had his wrist pinned and the Kawi was saying bye-bye.

Let's get stupid and brag.

I usually back it off after breaking the ton.  I think my bike is good for 140mph, but I haven't been there.

Dude, you need to go there.

Traveling across the face of the earth as fast as you can is the best.

Find a road and do it.

Generally 80 - 90. I entered Ct. Tuesday at 110 left at 100. It's rare but it does happen on occasion.

Those are good cruising speeds, but do you ever really open it up?

Someplace where you wick it up and can do so regularly.

I usually stop at 30 mph over the speed limit. That hopefully prevents a "meet the judge" if I ever get caught.   I've crossed Nevada at 100 mph,  but usually around here, 80 is a fast cruising speed, and enough for a  big performance award.

What is your definition of "regularly"?  Miss Busa will do over 90 in first gear, but she normally stays near the posted speed limits due to her owner's lack of funds to pay the tickets.  She has on a few ocasions found where the speed limiter is set and the GPS says hers is set right around 186.

I've been to 140 a couple of times.

On one bike it was a scary, idiotic thing and I can't believe I didn't piss myself.

On another bike it was a much smoother, much more controlled pace where I had to convince myself I really *was* going that fast.

My current Guzzi has it 120 indicated trying to beat a line of trucks while merging onto I-95 out of a rest stop.

usually I'm in the 80s.

All out speed isn't really very exciting to me, at all. Acceleration is my drug of choice.

But I will admit that both my old Vmax, and my present FZ1, have seen speeds in the low 160 mph range a couple of times, just out of curiousity, to see what they'd actually do.

I have yet to take the Sprint to triple (semi-pun intended) digits, not for want to do so, but more for finding a stretch where I'd feel comfortable doing so.  I've really only done commuter style riding so far which has me crusing ~70mph.

There are a few roads here in SoCal that are so remote and so straight that we (as a group) almost always do max speed runs when we get out there.  I generally don't get much over the upper 150s (gps indicated), but that's because I have a naked bike.

Regularly seen?  High 70's/low 80's for me, during a.m. commutes.  The fastest I think I've even seen on a speedo was about 142, on my FZ1; and that's an optimistic device.

Just last weekend Redfox and I got yanked for riding 20 over in PA (we were actually going a little faster than that) and we somehow escaped with only a verbal.  Don't care to push me luck further.
