So, as many of you know (and few of you care), I purchased a Speedy last November.  Living in the North US, we're not able to ride much between November and April.  I've been riding a little bit during the winter, but I obviously couldn't corner or accelerate well due to road conditions.  As a result, it had been difficult for me to get a good feel for the bike.

Until today.  It approached 60 degrees, and I took her out for a good 30ish mile romp through various driving conditions (city/highway/rural).  The acceleration of the 1050 mill is so much fun.  You can (and I sure did) blast through traffic with ridiculous ease.  Also, the front fork weighs next to nothing (or feels like it).  Turns can be initiated by rider weight shifts alone - using the handlebars is just kind of a bonus.  I've got a new Pilot Power on the rear, so as soon as I get it more scrubbed in, I'm sure I'll have plenty of accidental wheelies to report.

It's going to be in the upper 50s all week, so I'll be putting on more miles  Bigok

The acceleration is very good on the 1050, and it's also quite flexible for point and thrust twisty-road riding.  I hope you can get plenty of hours of riding in now that the weather is turning.  Enjoy your Triumph triple.   Bigsmile

I love that 1050 mill -- torque down low, and spins to 10K . . .what more could a boy want?

Thumbsup  Speedies are just plane fun to ride.  Wheelies are too easy on these things, and the urge kinda wore off after a while. With every mile you will feel a little more connected with that thing and steering will be little more than a thought.  The stock suspenders are pretty good, just set your sag, play with the damping, and the ride is quite nice.  This made a huge difference for me after I brought mine home.

Sounds like a great place to VISIT in the Summertime, then.

I've been in Soutwestern Michigan in the Summertime as well.  Other than the bugs covering my car, it was pleasant.
