My task is to bring this MB5 back to life. It belongs to a friend (the literal barn find, it was given to him), and he doesn't have time to fool with it. The motor still kicks over and it goes into gear. The main stand is bent and will have to be fixed first, then I can start taking it apart and cleaning it. The 29 year old tires still hold air! A low mileage campground bike, I imagine it was vandalized by teenagers, recovered, then parked.

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will get this to run. Anyone know any of clubs/groups that can get OEM or aftermarket parts?

Don't see many of those anymore.

There was one at the Edmonton Motorcycle show in January.

Significantly higher mileage on that one though. Someone actually rode it.

First thing was to repair the bent up main stand. And I mean BENT!
Acetylene torch, a grinder, Tig welder, and silicon bronze did the trick!

big government leads to socialism which leads to communism

Eventually the people rise as the people always do, and then the government exerts it's power in the form of totalitarian rule to violently squash the revolution.  Then, and only then, will you know it's too late.

I finally got around to finishing the little machine. It runs well, although it is a cold blooded bugger. Amazing what you can do with a rattle can and a heat gun!

Post up some pics of the finished product.

When I was younger and fist getting into motorcycle, a buddy of mine bought an MB5. It was a strange bike at the time, an even stranger to see them as 'collectables', but still cool.  Thumbsup
