I spoke with John at the Quality Inn (fka Brier Inn) and they can do a dinner buffet the evening of Tuesday June 15th at 7PM.  I have posted the menu choices below.

The price (including tax and tip) is $19.30 per person.  In addition, we would have to pay a one-time $100 room set up fee.  I want to get a feel of whether the group would like to do an official buffet or just order dinner that evening ad hoc.  For me, I believe it's better to do a buffet so that we can have the banquet hall all to ourselves that evening.  The biggest downsides of the banquet is 1)  coordination of collecting money up front and 2)  handling people who back out.

Well, here are my thoughts.

1)  We can use my PayPal account to collect the funds up front for the $19.30 per person.  I'll need to increase the amount slightly to cover the fees taken out by PayPal*.  Regarding the $100 room fee, I don't mind paying for that and using the honor system that you good folks will reimbursement that evening (June 15th).

2)  In the past, there was an official thread designed for folks who couldn't attend at the last minute and they sold / traded their dinners.

I have set up this poll to run for 10 days.  The voter can change his or her vote up to the expiration of the poll.

*  UPDATE:  Pay Pal's fee is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.  Therefore, the total cost would be $20.63 per person.

I highlighted the menu choices I discussed with John.  These choices would provide for the most diverse picks for the folks attending while falling under the category of being liked by most.

Would I rather have a fish option, sure.  But, most people like chicken or beef.

True, but we will not have the restaurant guaranteed to ourselves.

No no silly... the choice is the choice of either cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Cake, etc...

But is that a big deal? We filter in at the same time we more or less have the place.is it worth the money just to reserve a room when we will be socializing all evening outside?

I voted ad hoc, that way no ones feelings get hurt, or guarantees have to be made.
