An old bud of mine needs to book a motel room in
Silver City, NM. He's planning on a Motel 6. I did
find "Drifter Motel" (combo motel/cafe/bar) which
is cheaper. Reviews make it seem craptastic so
thought that some of you might have stayed in
that town before. Cheap and clean works as
he has budget constraints. No, he doesn't
wanna camp!

He's gonna stay for two nights, and explore the
winding roads around that region.

Having spent time in SC (nice area but huge Drug problem, at least when I left 18mo ago), I would recommend the Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express for peace of mind (more secure than the Drifter or Super-8) especially on a bike.

I miss riding that area...15 to the Gila Cliff dwellings, 35 to the Black Range (152), Red Bull in Hillsboro and back was my sunday loop  Inlove

Cheers

We had our Reg. 2 meet in Silver City last May.

We stayed here:

Super 8 Motel
1040 E Hwy 180
Hwy 180 & Pinos Altos
Silver City, NM, 88061-7820 US

Reservations - 575-388-1983

It was clean and relatively cheap.
