My neighbor has a new 09 FJR1300 and the front tire is worn out badly at 3300 miles, the rear looks good.
Something seems to be incorrect with the front tire install. There is a loose washer/spacer on the R/H side of the bike on the front Axel that is just floating there. I can move it inboard and outboard approximately 3/16" - 1/4".
Can anyone tell me if this belongs here?
I'd like to help him by loosening up the front Axel, pinch bolts, and brake calipers, and re-torquing in the proper sequence.
Can anyone supply the torque specs for the Axel, pinch bolts and calipers? They are not in the owners manual.

I just replaced the front tire on my 06, which should be the same as the 09.  There is a collar between the right fork and the hub.  Tightening the axle bolt normally pulls the forks tight to the hub and spacers, but that might not happen if the pinch bolts are tightened first.  However, there wasn't anywhere near that much play in my assembly before tightening the axle bolt, so I don't see how using an incorrect sequence could leave that much space.  Was the bike in any sort of accident?  Could a fork leg be bent? If not, I'd worry that pulling the forks inwards 1/4" from their natural position by tightening the axle might interfere with fork action.  There might be a manufacturing error here, or possibly the top triple clamp was tightened down way out of line so the fork legs are far from parallel.

Anyway, the correct sequence according to my 06 service manual is: assemble but do not tighten bolts; pump forks several times; tighten axle to 66 ft-lb; tighten pinch bolts to 15 ft-lb in the order of left inboard, left outboard, right outboard, right inboard.
