As you probably know, the Iron Butt Association is holding the National Meet in Denver this year, and the event promises to be AWESOME! If you aren't a member but would like to be, they're setting up some great options to earn your first Saddle Sore en route to Denver. Here's the link and the info:

http://www.ironbutt.com/natmeet2010/

Who here will be attending? I know my wife and I will!

Sorry to hear that... they're spending the money well, and the event will be well worth it.

Thumbsup , the bi-annual National meets are always a good time!

The IBA puts on a first-class, multi-day national meet. The cost is appropriate for the event.

In '08, the National meet was held about twenty-fives miles away from my house. Alan Bennett and I did a ride-in on our Ninja 250s, via MN and ND:

I'll be departing from Boeing Field at about 8:30 am on Tuesday the 10th for Denver. Initial plan is to do a BBG en route to the meet, but may chill it out and just to an SS1K. It's 1300 miles as is. I'll probably assess how I feel on arrival, document my presence, then do a 200 mile loop if I still feel up for it.

Anyone else headed my way?

I'll be there.  Short fat guy in a tan ST.N hat.  I'll be doing a BBG for the Mile High Ride in, should arrive Wed. evening before the premier reception.  Hope to meet some other ST.N folks.

I'll be departing from Boeing Field at about 8:30 am on Tuesday the 10th for Denver.

You file a flight plan from KBFI?  I imagine RE-5s were only certified for VFR and service ceiling and those Colorado mountains are pretty close together.

Just watched HM2 last night and put a fresh smile on my face. Wink

See you in Denver.  I'll be going there via Death Valley, 5000 miles'ish beforehand, and a CP in SE Utah.  George is my SPANK-Daddy (tm)!

Well this is interesting.

I'm doing a BBG Saturday from DC to Colo Spgs and meeting my family who will be flying in the next day.

I'll be in ColoSpgs for the entire week - then when I put them on the plane to fly out 8/16 I'll be heading directly home via flagstaff and Glacier nat park.  Bigsmile

I should see if I can find my way to Denver for a little visit...

Doing a SS1k through OK-TX-NM-CO. Headed to Denver Tuesday night or Wednesday, just depends on work obligations. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the inmates!

Just got back from my trip so too expensive for me right now. I only have so much vacation time and it doesn't reset until September.

I made it home from the National meet just in time to get packed and catch my plane to South Korea.

The meet was a really, really good time. My ride there took me from home in Bakersfield to San Francisco, then to Seattle. From there I did a Bun Burner Gold to Denver (1530 miles in about 22 hours). Had a lot of fun at the meet while learning a lot. On Sunday after the meet, I rode back to Bakersfield via Colorado National Monument and Arches National Park. It was 110+ degrees at Arches so I didn't stick around too long. It was going to be wicked hot on Monday morning, so I just rode on through the night all the way back. In the end, I racked up a Saddle Sore 2,000 on the way to Denver, the BBG, and another Saddle Sore on the way home.
