There are 2 crazy/adventurous Norwegians that are on a 5 yr. around the world trip on 1937 Nimbus sidecar rigs that I met in Alpine AZ yesterday. One bike is maroon and the other black. You can't miss their checkered puddinbowl helmets and red/blue Norwegian flag trailing out the back of the hacks. Last seen leaving Alpine heading North on 191 toward Springerville. If you see these guys give them an escort or a shout....THEY HAVE BEEN ON THE ROAD OVER 3 YRS STRAIGHT! The bikes are rigid frame with about 1 in. of fork travel! Let's do sightings and welcome them to our region. Their trip is chronicled on advrider, see ride reports, THE DUMB WAY AROUND, AROUND THE WORLD ON 70 YR. OLD MOTORCYCLES by king croseus.

They were headed for Cali by early May. I know they were headed to Springerville up 191  but their itinerary is like a viking odyssey as they go where they can and sometimes stop to see sights, fix bikes etc. These are 55 mph max bikes and they are camping out. Best guess is somewhere in the Salt Rvr canyon basin....Payson? Globe? You can go right on advrider.com under ride reports," The Dumb Way Around.Wandering the world on 70 yr.old motorcycles" and they will tell you exactly. A long thread(about 3 yrs!) on there. Give them a shout. Tell them buls4evr sent you and where are they?

They just left Las Vegas today. I met them yesterday at the place they were
staying with a friend. Here are some pictures.

Great couple of guys!

As a Ural rider, all I can do is envy them.  What a cool trip.   Thumbsup

And need more pics of that Guzzi hiding in the background.

Thanks for the pix vizion... It was night when I saw them in Alpine so I couldn't take any or get a real good look at the bikes. Are they crossing into Cali today?

Baring no more head gasket failures they should reach California today.
When I spoke to them, they planned on going through Death Valley.

The Guzzi in the background belongs to the person where the Norwegians
stayed here in Vegas. IIRC it was an older California model.

This person had a few, a Quota, a Le Mans and a Jackal.
Soo, he must own 30% of all Guzzis in Vegas. Lol

Are these the same guys that had mechanical problems in WI and showed up at the old Buell factory? (Eric's new venture is leasing space in the same building, and he and his crew tore the engine down and repaired the bikes).
