Back in the day, stealing a man's horse was a capital offense as you left him stranded and sure to die (depending on geography).
I wish vehicle theft was still like that.

Could you get a photo and post it, that might get more exposure, having more people to see it? Best wishes for a bike to be returned,

It's OK to let cold-blooded animal smashers slide but god forbid if somebody steals a bike, that's a death sentence, right?
Is that what I'm hearing correctly???
If I said something like that you'd be all over me like flies on shit.
Give it a break. This subject is old and tired.

Why the attitude? I'm simply agreeing with your apparent assessment of me.
Not sure why the hostility.
But ok then... take care of yourself.

Just looking for an explanation. I've always given you that respect. Evidently it's not mutual.

Which? On my perspective on stolen property?
It's MY property. Anyone stealing it will be... dealt with... if caught. Harshly. You understand that a man comes at me to harm me, to take from me or to harm those that fall under my umbrella of friend and family... that man is then my enemy and I'm a huge believer in enemies are only enemies by choice. One who makes that choice deserves and receives little mercy and no leniency.
And even now in the 21st century, leaving someone without his vehicle is akin to killing him yourself, depending on geography and weather. Spend an hour outside alone in Fargo in February, or in Death Valley in August. It also takes away someone's security and feeling of safety. We have made our personal vehicles as important to us as our wallets and reading glasses. They are part of us. Theft of such is unforgivable, in my opinion. It should come with VERY serious consequences.

I like when people imply property isn't worth getting hurt over. "It's only stuff, not worth dying for".
You think I wake up every day and head to work for shits and giggles? Bullshit. I go to work to get money to buy stuff. If my stuff isn't worth dying over then why the hell am I waking up so early?
Screw that. You try to steal my stuff it's my personal duty to stop you. I swore an oath. To myself.

Chris I'm not attacking you. FTR I would like to remain friends if possible.
However please note that I am just trying to point out some contradictions in your reactions towards things
I have said, and your statement here about a stolen bike being a death sentence.

Of course we're friends. No worries.
Scott summed it up nicely... I've busted my ass to get where I'm at in my career. The things I have, the security my family feels, the fact that my stuff is mine... I work hard to get here, anyone tries to take that away from me... there will be consequences, or a damn good attempt at them anyway.

You should consider not dragging content from one thread all over STN.
