For a fun and yet totally meaningless ride with no time frame, a friend and I just completed this - http://www.knobbies.org/Site/Four_Corners.html

We did it in five days, which is way too rushed, but that was our own personal goal.

The pin they send you is very nice!

Lastout, THANKS! That looks like a great ride, and  get something to attain. I have  often thought about what it would be like to ride the entire hw64 or hw 421. This looks even better.

My pleasure, 'Stang, it's a really good event where you plan out 95% of the ride yourself, and just tie in the corners. There's a short ride report on ADV of our our adventure, here... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=531761&page=15&highlight=corners

You need more than a new destination to ride, you need a new lady friend to ride.......
There are specialized web sites for that also........Everything from sites to find a wife like E-Harmony to a one nighter on Craigslist to a mail order lady from Russia.  Inlove
I'm married, but if I wasn't I'd be all over the internet, wearing it out.
Don't start off serious, just some companionship to make your last relationship more of a fond memory than a painful reminder.
Good Luck

I did go up 16 all the way to Tazewell, Va from Charlotte, NC.  16 is a good road, but it was covered with gravel in the "fun" area,  and I rode it like a lil old lady, being fearful of  downing the bike.

Thanks for the heads up. A few buddies and myself will be running 16 between Marion and Tazwell on Thurs on the way to NC.  I ran it last Sept on the way back from TN. Great road but with the storms we had that weekend it was covered in shit then too.

An Outer Banks trip sounds like a good idea. Need to get out there before the  touristas get there for the summer. And the seafood there is great.   Any places   in Va worth mentioning?   How about WV?   I'd like to ride to Memphis for  for  bbq  and blues... but that is a  long ride.

It would take some time but going to the outer banks and ride the ferry to ocracoke and then ride the second ferry over to Cedar Island would be fun.  We have done this on bikes and we had a great time.   Its about 2 and a half hours on the ferry to cedar island but it makes for a great trip and then you can ride out of Morehead City to Top Sail beach or Wilmington or Myrtle.
