So, we were talking at work the other day and one of the guys was saying how he got his bike all shined (chrome) and waxed.  I realized then that I've had "Clean and wax the Ducati plastics" on my winter to-do list for a couple of winters now. Well, I didn't actually wax it today, but I did scrub the bugs off the for first time in ... um ... not really sure there.

So, fess up!  What are your waxing habits?  Do you wax your bike and if so how often?

I'm voting based on the Ducati because none of my other bikes have enough bodywork to need waxing.

Every now and again I'll clean the bugs off the headlights.  That's about it!   If I wash or wax it, it will just get dirty again.  Bigsmile

Usually part of my winter maintenance. tear all the plastic off, change all fluids, check everything over, then clean and wax all the plastic before I put it back together. Of course if we have a mild winter and I can ride every couple weeks it may be two years Wink Smile

Some folks spend more time waxing than riding. Not me, I'd rather ride.
Sometimes, when I'm bored or feeling motivated, I polish all of the chrome on my bike.
Takes less than 10 minutes, makes it look real good & shiny too.

Used to do it regularly. last year a friend suggested the Turtle Wax Ice kit. Worked great, was quick and all I needed to do the rest of the summer was wipe the bike off with a warm wet cloth. The bugs came off and the shine returned.

Still haven't done it this year yet, been too busy but it'll be done soon.

I used to wax once a month during the riding season, have just started using RejeX synthetic wax type stuff. Really pleased with the results.  Damp sponge and all the bugs and crap come right off.  Actually does what it says it will do.

My bike has a matte finish which will be ruined if I wax it.  End of story!   Bigok

I clean my bike with Plexus. No wax needed.

I don't ever wash my bike unless it's been ridden in rain or somehow gotten actual muck of some kind on it.

Every weekend before I head out, I spray all the non-metal surfaces down with (in order of preference and what's on hand) Original Polish, Pledge, or Plexus, and wipe it down with a microfiber towel.  Takes under five minutes.   Shrug
