I stopped by Lee's a bit later, and saw the transmission, crank, rods and pistons all together.  I love the laser engraving on the pistons.

It truly blows me away how close the cylinders are to each other.

Bump the rev limiter a bit and see if they get even closer!   Bigsmile

A couple of years ago Jeremy hit his shoulder on one of the concrete walls on the inside of a turn.  He's got the leathers with the torn shoulder armor on display at his shop.

In fact, these leathers:

Here are a bunch of photos to put how crazy this race in perspective:

In fact, this photo from that gallery shows Jeremy (on the ugly green bike with the yellow and red leathers) right in the center:

It's no coincedence that the top runners at Macau are (usually) the Irish, British, or IOM native riders that regularly run on the full roads courses.  Lol

The reason Jeremy does so well at Macau and the IOMTT (he won the IceMan trophy as best newcomer in 2006) is that he learned to get really fast on our local canyon and mountain roads.

Can't imagine that place. Even more crazy since they share the weekend with cars that leave the track very greasy. No runoff, no grip, all blind turns on really fast bikes.  EEK!

ESPN Star (India) will be showing it.  Oddly enough, they have highlights from all the season's MotoGP races archived in small form for on-demand viewing, something I thought Dorna frowned upon.

It'll also surely be available at the usual places for such torrents

Quote
Rutter takes provisional pole in Macau
Michael Rutter, the King of Macau, and Stuart Easton, the Young Pretender, locked swords on the opening day of qualifying for Saturday’s Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix – 44th Edition.

Rutter, the 38-year-old British racer looking for a record-breaking seventh victory in the Far East classic, topped the 45-minute timed qualifying session, but by just a fifth of a second, ahead of Easton, the 27-year-old Scot who is aiming to win his third Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix in a row.

Both men lapped under the existing qualifying lap record of 2:25.476, set last year by Easton.

Rutter, on the Team of Paris – AXA Ducati 1098 went round the 6.2km Guia street circuit in 2:25.245 seconds, with Easton making his debut on the Kawasaki Racing Team bike a fraction slower.

Big surprise was the performance of American Jeremy Toye (Lee’s Cycles Racing BMW 1000) making his seventh appearance at the event, who qualified third fastest, but over two seconds slower than Rutter and Easton.

Simon Andrews, the 24-year-old British racer, was four quickest on his MSS Colchester Kawasaki, less than a quarter of a second slower than Toye.

John McGuinness, on the IGT/sorrymate.com Honda, winner of the race in 2001, was fifth fastest, over a second slower than Andrews.

Final qualifying session for Saturday’s 44th running of the event takes place tomorrow (Friday).
