Regrettably, my beloved 05 955i Tiger developed engine problems that estimated out at almost as much as the value of the bike. To be honest, I consider the Tiger the best all-round bike I've ever owned and racked up a lot of long distance mileage, as well as some truly great memories.... but, I also have a Trophy 1200 and Sprint ST in the garage so I'm not without some long-distance touring capability.

Enter the 2010 Street Triple; I test rode one a couple of years ago when the Ducati Monster 1100S made it's world wide release. I wanted to compare the two bikes and the dealer was more than happy to accomodate. I fell in love with the little Triumph and been looking for an excuse to get one. So, here she is, all dressed in red and going through the break-in process. I went with the Street Triple over the R because I just don't need the adjustable suspension or the bigger breaks, and the red is a great look. Keeping it to below 5000rpm's is nothing more than a tease, I'm ready to break this thing in and get it out on the twisties!

Thanks all! Great advice on checking all the fasteners, I adjusted the handlebars and found the two bottom clamp bolts loose, I'll go through the bike and check the rest!

Found the bits and pieces under the seat, no prob!

This little bike is amazing..... I'm very happy with the move!

I second double checking the fasteners.  And good luck keeping the allen wrench...I've had 2 disappear while I was out riding.

Otherwise it is a great bike.  Just took mine on a trip to NC and couldn't have had a better bike in the twisties.

I'll certainly heed everyone's advice on checking the fasteners, I appreciate the heads-up!

We're heading to the GA/TN/NC mountains on the 11th of June for a weekend of riding, but my Trophy 1200's going on that run. Deals Gap and the Cherohala Skyway are about a 5hr run from Charleston, SC, so it's pretty easy to set-up a couple of rides up there per year.

I feel like such a kid, I went out to the garage after dinner and just sat looking at the little Triumph while I enjoyed a hot cup of tea  Inlove

Here's another shot for you Jeff!

I was just there last week on my Street Triple and it was great fun on all of those twisty roads.  Ride report posted in the ride reports section.

More pics  Bigsmile

Added mirror extenders so I can see past my shoulders now... I don't like bar end mirrors, I used the extenders on my Tiger with good results and can say the same for the striple too. $20 (US) off EBay.

Also went with LED inserts for the turn signals, a very simple plug and play set-up. The circuit board already has the proper capacitor installed so no need to fuss with the wiring - unplug the old bulb, pop out the reflector, plug in the wires to the terminals on the back of the turn signal board, put the lens back on and enjoy. I like they match the LED brake light, and the black circuit board does away with the bright and shiney reflector. Very bright, and a great investment. Another EBay item.

Then the radiator guard and red cowls.... I don't like the stainless steel guard, but my powder coating company went out of business so I intalled it until I can find someone to powder coat it satin black for me so it'll blend in better and not look so obvious. There's always a lot of road and highway construction around here and a lot of debris - I wanted to protect the radiator as much as possible.

The cowls are factory and make a nice splash of color, I added the shredding British racing flags for a tribute to the great British racers who've kept the Triumph brand name at the front of the historical list of great bikes.

I'm just at 900 miles total on the bike now. After the break in period, I'll be looking for my new Arrow exhaust and tune  Bigok

Nicely done Tom.  I like the color on the rad covers.  Where did you get the rad guard?

Your new Sargent seat is looking good as well.  Smile

Thanks!

As I look at the bike, I think I'll hold off on the fly screen and belly pan, the rad cowls give it enough color for me.

I pulled the rad guard off EBay too, some place in MN had them pretty cheap. I'm looking forward to getting it powder coated black so it blends in better....
