GTS Owners I gotta question or two for ya
«
on:

I'm looking at a 1994 GTS 1000. I was wondering if there is any aftermarket support for these anymore? Such as hard luggage, bar risers (if needed) etc. Also is there any good owners forums on the Interweb? Google came up with really just one that was mostly European.
I've always loved the GTS, but if I can't find any support for them I might have to pass on this one and keep my eye out for one with luggage.
TIA

I'm not a GTS owner, but I know that Yamaha sold very few of them. That equates to poor aftermarket support. Look elseware.

That's the appeal. You don't see many of these. In fact the numbers I heard were 800 some odd in North America for the two years they were imported.
FI, ABS, RADD front suspension. Very cool

We have a rider with two of them on the board. He used to have the name GTS in his name, I do believe.

one of the guys on
www.fjrforum.com
just sold a pristine one last fall - it was cool looking.
Ahead of it's time and didn't sell well. Never heard him mention needing anything for it in the two years he owned it.

Try
www.gtsclub.org
and
www.listserv.uga.edu
I have been able to get tons of info from these 2 websites.Had a GTS without the bags and that sucked so I sold it to a yuppie who made me an offer I could not refuse. Now I have a GTS with the bags and love it.The bags make a world of difference, you can actually put something in these unlike the bags that are on the sport touring bikes of today!!!Put a sandwhich and a 6 pack and there full
Pick this bike up on ebay with 12000 miles on it,Wont be giving this one up anytime soon.

Hey, sorry I missed this...
You probably found out by now most of the bag stuff is gonna be a used market hunt. There could be a couple of Givi Top-Rack only setups still available new, but the full Givi setup is unobtainium unless you get lucky in the used Market. Same goes for Krousers I believe. I picked up Heli-Bar risers for mine years ago, but I don't think those are available new anymore eithier. Ebay is your friend

Before I bought the bike I'd find some one knowledgeable to work on it. Unless the previous owner has been diligent about maintaining the bike it will need a front end rebuild. The test ride will tell you littlw because the
gts just feels strange at first. But don't let the seller tell you that they all steer hard and require more effort than a standard bike. If the front end is right they don't. Budget for a front end rebuild. And new tires. They eat fronts for breakfast.
