Does anyone out there have any experience with the Fischer MRX?  It looks like it could be a great little track bick.  At $8,000 you get brembo brakes and ohlins suspension.

Don't forget about the Roehr with a supercharged H-D V-Rod powerplant- at a introductory price of $39,995.00...

Is it an all new engine or borrowed from one of the other 650 Twin manufacturers and massaged a bit?

EDIT: Never mind.  It's a Rotax.

I saw one at the bike show in January.

It looked horribly cobbled together with generic hardware-store grade fasteners, the exhaust system was not even hooked up, the roto-molded fuel tank had an ugly seam down the middle where the mold halves would have met, the machined parts had a very plain finish, blocky looking, and the rubber trim pieves on the tailsection kept falling off.

I was told it was a non-running display unit put together solely for the show. I dearly hope they ramp up the quality for the production model.

Roehr will be making electric sportbikes soon too.  But they will likewise be expensive at $30k.

Fischer bikes are made in nearby MD if you want to check them out, Doug.   Thumbsup

I'd be up for a ride to the Fischer factory.  I've always liked the principle of it, but only ever seen one from a distance.

Really?  The source they quote on their own page suggested they had an engine deal with Rotax.  Did I miss something here?

Let me add another american made motorcycle. The motus. Though still being designed, I'm sure they'll be on the market by the end of this year. That or the company will completly go under due to this economy.

I got the opportunity to ride the MRX this week.

The engine is the Hyosung 650 and was pretty good. It pulled surprisingly well. The trans was a bit clunky but no mis-shifts.

The handling of this bike was its sweet point. I was railing it through some Maryland sweepers and it was planted. The suspension and brakes are on the money Thumbsup

The ergonomics are really nice as well. Very comfortable and allowed for getting off the seat in turns without any hindrance. The fuel tank shape was a bit in your ribs but that is likely to change (with my help).

All in all this is a really sharp looking bike and rides really nice. I was impressed and had a fun ride Thumbsup

Fischer is working through some changes to make this bike even nicer while trying to hit a pricing sweet spot. I think if they can work out a good dealer partnership in the US these will sell well. They seem to have a pretty strong interest internationally with good future sales figures.

Here is one fresh from the shop. I rode Mr. Fischer's bike which was probably serial number 001.

An even better pic than your first one!

What I would like to see would be a Naked American Streetfighter based on this bike.  Something more practical, with a pillion seat, rack, etc.

Well, that and a dealer near me (!).

Btw, here's another hot shot from their FB page.

Yeesh! Highland, Fischer, V-Roehr, Confederate, Indian...

You think some of these guys would get a clue and join forces.

Especially Fischer and Highland. Fischer and Highland have the same business model for crying out loud. How many small direct order online motorcycle companies do they think the market can take? Fischer has a great frame by all accounts, of there own design. The MRX is a total package, where Highland's dirt bikes are great, but their street bikes are half-assed. They use imported frames and borrowed plastics. Highland has their own engine, and aside from a wonky single throttle body, it's strong. It's also Fischer's dream engine- a 60 degree v-twin that's extremely light and makes great power. And Fischer has a plastics mfg next door that's owned by a close business associate. Plus, Fischer has their prices under control, where Highland's are crazy.

Put those two together, and you'd have a full line of lean, mean, (mostly) American motorcycles, and a few ATVs. Maybe if you put both their resources into building a quality website, there would be something useful.
