I vote we keep in the tradition of the F.U.C.K.E.R.S. and continue to support the little guy.
The places will never have the same “cookie-cutter” look.
The staff will probably be more understanding of this group and be happier to have us there.
We will not just be another group of pie lovers.
Service will probably be better due stuff I already said.
We would out number the staff so we can then take over the joint.
The pizza-pie will be better.
We can get away with being a little nuttier & louder than the average customers than at a cooperate place without being asked to leave.
Or, here’s an idea; since everyone is chiming in with their personal favs, we could call it “The quest for the best Pizza-Pie winter 2006/2007” Pick your best place, invite everyone. Then we eat, we drink, we compare, we judge, we banter you if it sux, we vote.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Bitches? Gripes?

Sounds good to me. I'm thinking of one and maybe another right now. I can't call one today because I have a thing to go to tonight.

Back when I had a motorcycle down in Southern Michigan, I came up with this idea to beat the rain one day:
Since it looked a whole lot less wet to the West, let's ride for a couple hours through the rain to Valpo and hit the Shakeys pizza place. 3 hour ride one-way for commercial-quality pizza. Yay! (it's obviously not about the pizza...)
My friend jammed up to a stop sign on one of those many tar patches on a farm road in Porter County (IN)-(these aren't snakes, they take up a stop signs worth of road), and slid through the stop sign, most of the slide on his butt. Wore a hole through his rain gear, jeans, and a quarter inside made a nice ringed friction impression in his leather wallet. No ATTGATT, just EOTG to prevent any injury (short of a bruise or scrape, etc... I laughed my ass off! - You had to be there - it was like a cartoon.
He lost a turn signal and a mirror and had a couple scratches on his Seca. That was about when the Rainbow came out and we were almost to Valpo. He jumped back on the bike, we got pizza, I looked up a friend of mine in Valpo, shot the shit a while and the ride back to Jackson County (MI) was high and dry.
Pizza runs are fun!

They are still open. they are across the tracks from Armand's on Park.
Another small pizza place in Villa Park is Michael Anthony's PIzza on Villa Ave. south of Villa and St. Charles. It is so small it doesn't have a web site. It is a reall mom and pop place. My girlfriend has an in with the owner and its close to a couple of bars, including a martini bar.

Man, that IS small in this day and age! Great place, though.
Oh, and pizza and Guiness are a perfectly acceptable breakfast combo.

What the heck does Communism have to do with Pizza?
Anyway,
Pizza is like sex. It's all good, but it's a hell of a lot better when it's
hot
!
(and fresh!)

Zaffiro's is authentic, though it's been a while since I was there. They used to have the kind of wine made by your Uncle Carlo.
