Guys  I am returning to your beautiful backyard. I have a question about a new route to Moab that has shown up on the  GPS.

From Montrose CO on I-75 .. ( oops I mean I-70 ) .., instead of hitting 192 and coming in from the North I see 128 peeling off at mile marker 214 and following a nice route along the Colorado River, skirting the South side of Arches NP and into Moab.
I’m on a SportBike with no desire for much offroad adventuring, Mike on the new Multistrada with me can suck it  Rolleyes
Is it paved ?

thanks,
RT

Hwy 128 from I-70 to Moab is paved.   Great scenery along that road.   If you exit at marker 214 the road starts out a bit rough, but after a few miles it's in good shape.

Road it last year, 2- up on my Blackbird, pulling a trailer.   No problems.    See above about "rough" spot,  it's true, but wasn't an issue.

The road into Moab that follows the Colorado River is the ONLY way to go -- its perfect for a motorcycle. The other route is just Slab.

from montrose you can also head to ridgeway over the dallas divide and towards naturita and then bedrock and come into moab the back way. i hope the OP did not go up 50 to GJ which is straight and boring but took dolores canyon 141 atleast. that's the best sport touring rd in colo imo.

No gas on that road til Moab, make sure you fill up...

But yeah, freakin amazing ride! I stopped at one of the camping areas (there are a bunch along the road/river) and took a swim!
