I think I was there. Nearly crushed by a tour bus coming the other way. Gotta to go one more time. A road like that lead to the top of a mountain pass with a giant thumb of a rock 1000 feet high. There was a gondola going to the top of this bare rock pinnacle. I was getting seriously week in the knees just looking at it. From that day on every time I see Cliff Hanger I'm like that little girl.

Any in particular? You really don't need to hunt down any of these; these sorts of roads are everywhere.
The narrow road running through the rocks is east of Lake Como, between Bergamo and the lake (it has almost no traffic and certainly no tourist busses). The twisting road is Colle della Maddlena between Italy and France. It's one of the gentle passes and is more fun to ride than the more extreme style (such as Stelvio).
For me, often it's the gentle roads through quiet countryside that are the nicest.

[/shrug] Eh, it's often useful to hang a title or place name on a set of photos, so someone else can go "oh, that's what St. Pomme de Terre looks like".
Nice road past the tree, BTW. It reminds me of a road near where the in-laws live, in Germany (Aarstrasse, north of Wehen, headed towards Idstein).

Can you give me more info as to the location of this road? I expect to be in Lake Como in June and would love to take the family over this.

Look for Serina and Bellano. Your route is between those two towns.
in places, this is a pretty narrow road with serious penalties.

Word. While I loved pass bagging at first, it got tiresome after awhile. There's lots more interesting areas in Europe.

Hey Daniel,
Thanks for putting together your Ride Report on your Web Site. I'd enjoyed reading it... I would never have given a second thought to walk out into a Field to take a picture... You have some Amazing Pictures.
