From Triumph on youtube: Let the adventure begin! We're working on two brand new models that we know the adventurers among you are going to love. Our website is now live so sign up for more information at www.triumphadventure.com

http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2010/07/triumph-teases-new-adventure-b.html

After years of speculation Triumph  is finally getting ready to launch a mid-size adventure touring bike. The Adventure (if that is the name) will come in two versions - "street" and "off-road". There's not much information about the bike yet, but Triumph sources tell us both bikes will use an 800 cc version of the triple engine, going head to head with the  BMW F 800 GS. The bikes will be presented at the EICMA show in Italy in early November, but expect a series of "leaks" before that.

MCN shot

Two new Triumph adventure bikes have been spotted in final development – one road-orientated model, and another fitted with knobbly off-road tyres.

A black bike was spotted being ridden on a high speed handling circuit, according to our photographer, and a second orange bike was spotted tackling a woodland area within the same complex. Both bikes appear to have the same basic design, but it’s clear there are differences.

The http://www.triumphadventure.com/ site is live now with countdowns to the release.  Earliest model release will be in 28-days, then another two releases to be shown in 56-days and 91-days.

They have an extended video on that site.  Sure sounds like a 675-inspired engine.

Pretty exciting

There goes my idea of having a Sprint ST for road touring and an F800GS for adventure touring. Looks like I'll be saving my dough for two Triumphs!

This bike has the potential of being an epic adventure bike.

You're right it does sound like a 675, and the Triumph Official line has not yet given the displacement size AFAIK.  I was going by the Hell For Leather article which said, "Triumph sources tell us both bikes will use an 800 cc version of the triple engine, going head to head with the  BMW F 800 GS."  We'll have to wait until August 4th to see if this is the case.  I would not be disappointed if they kept the 675 engine - what a gem.

When they are unloading the two bikes, it almost sounds like two different engines or states of tune (unless the engine noise is a mask-over on the second bike).  One bike has the spoked wheels, the other looks like it has the cast wheels.
