I had to come back and stare at this pic awhile longer and bump it to the next page.
It looks sort of like they made the cylinders more upright compared to the 675, which is what BMW did with their 800cc twin engine when it went into the F800GS, IIRC. It could be just the way the photo was taken.
There seem to be a fair number of styling similarities to the F650GS twin.

Unlike the BMW it looks to have a proper seat , and knowing Triumph it will also come without the .......SUPERIOR ELECTRONICS
Of der BMW . I love the look of it , and if Triumph price it right , it could well steal a lot of sales from the brilliant but ageing wee strom , as well as the overpriced over complex unreliable beemers .
And before anyone complains about me BMW bashing , my friend bought one of the new F650GS twins , it lasted three weeks before the ignition ring sensor , or whatever BMW calls it failed leaving him stranded at the roadside , replaced under warranty , it failed again a few months later , then the fuel pump went , there,s more but you get the point
.

Maybe I'm just a Triumph fanboy. I'm not normally into adventure type bikes, but this looks SUH-WEET. I dunno if I'd rather have this than the Street Triple, but still, for me it seems like Triumph just can't miss right now. Everything they do seems to be a home run.

Looks good to me!
I like that they kept the plastic to a minimum, although it's possible they may add some before it's ready for production. Here's what I hope for:
1. Fully adjustable suspension
2. Available ABS
3. No more than $11,000 with ABS
I don't like the big, single can on the right side. I
think
- I don't
know
- that I would've preferred two smaller cans, but that probably would've added weight, and it looks as though Triumph did a lot to keep weight to a minimum. I'm really surprised with the trellis frame.
Here's my problem. I'm almost sure I want one, but which one? I don't know how much off roading I would do, but then, I've never owned a dual sport bike.

Hows this for an idea ? What if triumph sold the bike with the option of buying it with a spare set of interchangeable wheels , road wheels for the road , and spoked wheels for the dirt , just keep the axle , and brake disc sizes the same , and it would take no time to convert the bike for whatever style of riding you wanted . or am i being crazy ...again ?

It would need an adjustable front fender, too, but otherwise it would make sense.
I'm curious just how far they are going to take the Adventure-Touring model. If, for instance, they will route the exhaust away from the bottom of the bike, protect the exposed oil filter, etc.
Personally I'm not sold yet on this trellis frame. This is Triumph's first such frame AFAIK, and it seems sort of overdone.

Just a thought , what if the frame is alloy and not steel , that would be a helluva weight saving right there , I guess we will have to just wait and see , also knowing triumph , there will be an ocean of accessories for both these bikes , bashplates , engine guards , luggage , screens , exhausts , the list goes on .

Jay Leno
is neither of those things, and although his web show features more cars than motorcycles, it's definitely interesting, especially because of the off-the-wall stuff he owns.
The Kneeslider
gets pseudo-philosophical about old bikes and doing stuff yourself, but it's never pretentious.
Web Bike World
is neither pretentious nor pseudo-intellectual and provides useful, detailed reviews on all kinds of bike gear from seats to tires to helmets, ear plugs, you name it.
You're welcome.
So Jay Leno showing off his multi million dollar collection of cars and bikes to generate income is not pretentious? How would he otherwise get anybody's attention if not for putting his asset worth on display? Through motorjournalism?
The Kneeslider offers very few reviews/opinions. Provides mostly information/article of interest and links.
I use to visit Webbikeworld and found them boring and their reviews as subjective as others, only with fewer adjectives. Maybe you're right about them not being pseudo-intellectual, as they're not intellectual at all IMO.
Thanks for those, but I'm still looking. Got any more?

pre·ten·tious /prɪˈtɛnʃəs/ [pri-ten-shuhs]
–adjective
1. full of pretense or pretension.
2. characterized by assumption of dignity or importance.
3. making an exaggerated outward show; ostentatious.
Nope. Doesn't fit the definition. He doesn't present himself with an "assumption of dignity or importance". In fact, just the opposite. Neither is there "an exaggerated outward show". Besides, maybe you haven't watched the webcast, but many of the featured machines belong to others.

You didn't ask for "exciting", or "reviews/opinions", or intellectualism. You asked...

If you can direct me to a motorcycle web mag, or any other media type for that matter, that is not pseudo-intellectual and pretentious, I'd be very grateful.
I did that. So you're welcome.

On the question of purchasing the bike with an extra set of wheels, it seems to me that it would make more sense to do this with the dirt version of the bike. That is, buy the bike with enough fender clearance to go off road, and get a set of alloy wheels and street tires for every day road riding.
That would work okay, right?

But what about the *ostentatious* part of that definition?
Showing off your multimillion dollar collection of cars and bikes to make even more money seems ostentatious to me.
I love Jay, and his collection, don't get me wrong. But me thinks his show could fit the "pretentious" definition. Here's another definition for you:
"Main Entry: os·ten·ta·tious
Pronunciation: \-shəs\
Function: adjective
Date: 1673
: marked by or fond of
conspicuous
or vainglorious and sometimes pretentious
display
"
That'd be "Jay's Garage", a conspicuous display if ever there was one

I like that. I'm stealing it!
But seriously, I can't wait to see what they come up with (or if they come up with) a seriously offroady version - spoke wheels, knobby tires, etc. KLR but w/ power - something to rival the small KTM. THAT I would interested in.
