SLOWduc  Lol  Bigok

are you commenting on my steel trap grasp on the obvious or my being slow on the draw? both are valid points  Bigsmile
seriously, though, i wonder if the mention of the "cubs" is just to throw us off, and they're just going to call them something completely out of the blue, like "adventure," or "frank."  "frank" is a good name for a bike, right?

Just that I beat you by a whole 40-seconds on that last point.   Bigsmile

I think they will call them Tiger Cubs.  Tiger Franks sounds like what a poacher would roast over a campfire.   Lol

The schedule seems to favor showing it at one of the big European shows.

Here is the "engine" video from the Triumphadventure site:

5'1" with a 28" inseam.

I feel your pain...not much better for me at 5'6" with a 29" inseam.  But if the bike isn't any heavier than a Speed Triple, it should be manageable.

 Bigok

Argh, I'll have to wait till I get home from work to check out the latest release.

I was expecting a full list of specs on this new motor. But at least the video was better than the last one.

Well, that was a disappointment.

Engines?  Who is the target that Triumph is trying to take sales from: F800GS and R1200GS(A)

If you're gonna run with the big dogs, you need a big motor.

The 675 becomes an 800, the 1050 becomes a...?

Pics from Motoblog.it are slightly clearer.

This looks like the street version.

I like that they thought to include fog lights in the accessories.

Here's that side-by-side shot again.  Arrow accessory exhaust is ready right out the gate, which is good.

I can't quite tell, but I think one bike here is the street version (no beak) and the other is the "off road" version.  EDIT: Looking at it again, you can see clearly that the bike on the left has 10-spoke, cast wheels, while the one on the right has off-road-type spoked wheels.

Is it just me, or does the street going model look like its running a larger than 17" front wheel?

You may be correct by the pics, and that is the rumor - 19" front for the street-version, and 21" for the other one.  That is the same sizes as the BMW F650GS and F800GS.

It looks really similar to the BMW F800GS.

Fortunately, I really like the way that looks  Bigok

I am wondering if I should keep the sprint and get the offroad version? Or get both versions and sell the sprint? It would be convenient to have an offroad and road bike that shared the same set of luggage. I just hope I'm not disappointed after the finale version is released and the test ride is over.

It doesn't seem like buy both versions makes much sense, though Triumph would love you!

1. Why have two nearly identical bikes with the same engine? I'd rather keep the Sprint and have an off-road bike.
2. Or, if you're dripping with money (or love being in debt), get a Sprint GT and an off-road 800. You'd have two triples to enjoy, one for eating miles and the other for versatility and around-town fun.
3. If you're torn between on-road and off-road 800's, get the enduro, plus a second set of road wheels with street tires.

Does that help?
