Couldn't stand the thought of going to work today.
70 degrees and somewhere overlooking the Snake River close to Grandview Idaho
I love this bike!

So how many miles does the 610 manage on a tank? 150?
Great scenery too. The 610 if firmly entrenched on my DS short list should I be buying new. Just gonna wait and see what my mood is as the season progresses and if any screaming deals appear on a 2006 leftover.

Thanks everyone, yes it is gorgeous out there and it drains fast too which makes it a good spring riding area.
When I get some more time in the saddle of the TE (coming up out of that valley in a creek bed full of lava rocks helped school me!) I'm going to pack my good camera as the point and shoot doesn't capture as much detail as I like.
About fuel range. The current tank
really
holds 3.5 gallons not the 3.7 I think the manual says. A rider named BigDog over on Advrider has come to the conclusion that once broken in, you can get about 150 miles from a tank and that's running it dry. IMS is making a bigger tank for the TE as well and I've heard anywhere from 4.5 to 5.3 gallons for the capacity.

So...how far of a ride is it from your house, to where you took these pictures? Is it private property, or BLM land? Do you have to evade the Dirt police? Do you need off road permits? Scenery is spectacular!

Enter this into google earth. That's about where I was when I took the pics:
43 06.151N, 116 12.472W
That area is about 65 miles from my doorstep. I believe it is BLM land but I don't know. There are no signs, no people, nothing. Off road permits? You don't need any out there but I do have one. Dirt police?
Nope.
About the only thing you do need to watch out for if you get out a bit further are bombs.

Yeah that sign would be the only thing that would spoil the ride looking at the other pictures!
