Harley-Davidson finishes sale of MV Agusta

Quote from: buisnessweek.com
Harley-Davidson Inc. said Friday it finished its sale of Italian motorcycle maker MV Agusta to Claudio Castiglioni.

Castiglioni is the company's former owner and had served as MV Agusta's chairman since Harley-Davidson purchased it in 2008. Harley-Davidson has been focused on cutting costs and streamlining its business. It said last October it planned to sell MV Agusta.

Harley-Davidson shares fell 3.7 percent, or $1.07, to $27.54 in Friday afternoon trading, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index was down about 1.5 percent.

Harley-Davidson finishes sale of MV Agusta

So let me get this straight... They're ditching brands that could broaden their market share, and are becoming profitable, at a huge loss.  Why?... To focus on churning out a million more variations of the "XLCHTFR Super Tank with NEW Fat Tire and skulls...  And, oh yeah, there's another (even lower) girlie bike."  Yeah, okay makes sense...

They're focusing on their core competency.  You may not like it, but the market does.

HD sold MV for $1.20 and having purchased MV 2 years ago, HD is taking a hit of $26,999,998.80. Now that's sound business practices.  Crazy

I would like to thank Harley Davidson for helping MV Agusta clear their debt and allow for the development of a new 675-ish middleweight sportbike triple.  Dear Castiglioni - please consider a Brutale version developed alongside the faired version.  THANKS!
