Do you even use wax? I guess what I'm asking is should I treat the painted surfaces on my 1200 Sport like I would the paint on my car? I waxed my old BMW K-bike a couple of times and there was a lot of color transfer to the polishing cloth, probably because the paint job was almost 20 years old. But for all I know I was using the wrong stuff, is bike paint a clear coat just like modern cars? Thus far all I've used on my Guzzi is some Maguire's Spray detailer and a microfiber cloth. Anyone have recommendations? Thanks.

I just use Pledge, wipe down with a soft cotton towel and finish with a microfiber cloth.

If the bike is really dirty (i.e. ridden in a hard rain) I'll wash it first.  But most of the time, Pledge does the trick.  Plus, it gives you that fresh lemon scent every time you dust.   Bigsmile

Mine is black, though, and I anticipate that after a few years the black finish will be rife with little micro scratches.  Black is a tough color to maintain (and then it will be time for a paint color change...already I'm contemplating options).

Guzzis aren't meant to be shiney  Smile

I use that stuff that helps remove bugs and leaves a waxy shine   -

Turtle Wax® Bug & Tar Remover is an innovative product formulation that removes bugs, tar, tree sap, and road grime from your car's finish and restores a deep gloss shine.

Actually works pretty good!
