So I'm 6'5" 230# and have been riding a dr250 for the last 4 years, mostly off road with ocasional commuting. I've been happy with it but I feel like I'm constantly shifting to keep it in the band.

I've got a line on a comperable dr350, same year e-start. I'm wondering if it is worth the hassel of buying the 350 (with any new problems it may have) and selling the 250?

Keeping them both is not an option. Anyone out there have any experience with both. I'm going to look at the 350 on Monday and could use some input.

Thanks.

It's so hard not to answer your question with more questions. Buy the 350 and ride them both for a while, then decide which one to sell. Both great bikes. Given your "personal dimensions" I would think you might be better served with a bit larger bike. How about the DRZ400? It truly is one of the best dual sports made. Much more common on the used bike market, and, lots of after market farkels available.

Yeah I would love to get a DRZ but I can't afford it.  I just got a sprint st so the bike fund is all dried up.  I'm only looking at spending $1100 for the 350 and I figure I can get close to that for the 250 so this will be a straight swap.

This will be for off road only and riding on road between trails (lots of NF in this area).  The problem with the 250 is I spend all day shifting to keep it in the powerband (6Krpm) it makes for a long day and can be a pain on long hill climbs wherethe rpms drop.  I'm hoping the low end grunt of the 350 will let me be a little more lazy than the top end of the 250.
