I know I know - done to death - but looking for a quick opinion.

Just killed the rear on a BBG cross country and still have 4000 more miles to ride in the mountains of the west before crossing the plains again.

The Metzler were ok - what about the Michellen Anakee - like - dis-like?

Mr riding will be 90% street.

I've burned out three sets of Anakee's.  They are very good tires and they will serve you very well.  I like the Anakee II more than the Tourance (not EXP) and it's a fine road tire.

For what it's worth, I get around 10k out of a set.
