Plan to arrive sometime on Friday Sept 10 and informal dinner meet up at Barley Brown followed by the Oregon Trail Motel parking lot

Saturday, ride the great roads in the area. Dinner TBD, but some have mentioned the Oregon Trail Motel will let us use a meeting room and we can bring in our own food.

Sunday depart at your leisure.

Lodging and dining info:

Oregon Trail Motel - Includes breakfast at the greasy spoon in their parking lot.

Some may prefer the upscale ambiance of the Geyser Grand Hotel, it's halfway between the Oregon Trail and Barley Browns

There are other motels in town if you find neither of these suitable.

Based on the other thread, we are expecting:

Greench440
UHOH
Andrew
XLR8

I'm expecting Mr Sunshine to protest the date by not attending.  Twofinger

Post up and let us know if you are attending.

Yes.  Thumbsup

I'm thinking about a looooong day on Saturday, perhaps trying to do the old spiral highway. If not that then Hells Canyon. If not that then the pool. Fuck it maybe I'll just sit at Mad Matilda's all day and chill.

I'll be at Barley Brown's both nights and Mad Matilda's (if it's still there) in the mornings.

This is an excellent town to have a gathering.

I'm not protesting.  I'm glad you guys just named a date and are going with it.  Just wished there wasn't a track day on the 10th I already paid for.   Sad

Pretty sure this is the list as of now:

etachell,

and also confirming
a V-Strom rider, Mr. X, lately back from a ride thru Mexico, who may or not be a S-T.net member yet

I'm in the same boat. It's only about 450 miles for me so it would be a decent ride. I checked out a map and there's not one bit of slab for me. I know I can get the time but I need to clear with 2 bosses, one of whom is also the Minister of Finance.

Friday - Sandpoint to Baker City via Cour d'Alene, Tekoa, Palouse, Asotin, Joseph and Elgin.  See you all at the Oregon Trail.

Maybe the way you ride.  Bigok  Actually I left out some of the intermediate cities so the list wouldn't get too long.

So, are you in for Sandpoint?  It's only 421 miles from Boise.  I'll be doing about 470 to get to Sandpoint. :pokestick:

If your long way means the very long way, going over Forest Rd #39 from Joseph to Hell's Canyon, well ... check it out.

Can't they dump a few wheelbarrows of dirt in and tamp it down?

Seriously though, the pic looks like springtime.  Do you know if it's still out?

Yeah, you're right.  FS website sez it's out for the year basically.  Maybe with a running start, I could sneak by on the hillside above the road.

Looks like I get to train a new lead mechanic on how the dayshift runs (he is from graveyard).
I will need to work with him and get him up to speed all this next week.
Looks like I will be leaving Friday after work, should arrive Saturday morning and back on out Sunday morning.
So much for 6 days off, but I do get the weakened off to ride Bigsmile

Something to prove often leads to spectacular crashes.  Beware the red mist.   The bartender at the Geyser Grand is going to miss you.

Mystery rider eh? Well there's only one person I can think of and if they come it will be good to meet them. I'll be dual sporting it from Boise across the back roads and through the canyon unless I decide to run down from Sandpoint, ID with Greench440.

Staying @ the Oregon Trail. See you guys there.  Smile

Made it to Baker City after a great autumn ride through Hells Canyon. Now enjoying a coffee @ Sorbenot's. Guess there's a Triumph rally @ the Best Western just down the street.

1:00AM Home and safe back in the bay area Thumbsup

I did get to have some fun on the ride home, I got to ride 89 to 4 all the way to 99 with no traffic. Never had a car in front of me the whole way Banana
Kind of spooky riding the pass in the dark with no one around at all.

Time for some sleep

 Hail

Creeps me out riding at night in the mountains. It was good to meet you. It would have been good if we were able to sit at one table during dinner. Oh well.

I didn't take many pictures, but here's one I took with my hipstamatic.

When I get some time, I'm going to combine two ride reports into one since they were two weeks apart.
