I was at the shop, looking at one once again , and for my use it fits me, I like the price and think it may be my next ST machine.
I am intrested in any problems, ease of maintaining it. Mileage, After market do dads and gadget availability. Is the stock seat any good? Does anyone have the hard bags and are they worth the money? ECT ECT
Any info ,good bad, in between is helpful
Thanks

I bought a used 07 about 16 months ago. I have put over 20k miles since. I have replaced tires and a chain and sprocket. That's it. Mileage is low to mid 40's. The stock seat sucks. Mine had the suzuki/givi hard bags when I bought it. My wife and I took a weekend trip last weekend and had pleny of space in the bags. I have done some performance mods(holeshot) and am very pleased with the improvements. I ride with a couple of busas, a liter bike, and a rc51 and they are impressed with the capabilities of the bandit. I have been very pleased with the bandit. It really is a bike that can do it all.

Maddjack:
A good linky here for just about anything you want to know about the Bandit.

I had an 02 and that Bike treated me well. The 3rd gen Bandits that you are looking at are reported to be rock solid. I would buy a 1250 in a second.

My thoughts......
Some breakfast would be good about now. I like big titted blond American women. I dont want to go to work today. I have to go to work today. I will ride my bike which I love because it is a Bandit 1250, the coolest bike evar, just ask Stefrr!
Aside from oil changes and chain care, there is no maintenance.
Consistent 40 mpg.
Stock seat blows monkey balls. Hard bags are not worth the bucks unless you use them alot, a topcase and soft bags work wonders. There is aftermarket stuff every where. I started with a new bone stock '08. The best mod so far was a MRA Vario-tour windscreen and the mirror extenders from holeshot.com.
Oh yeah, the crash bars and pegs. The pegs are key for me. At 6' 250# a good leg stretch ads miles before a needed stop because of the monkey ball sucking stock seat (being replaced in the spring)
Stefrr and I expressing our obvious joy of GSF1250 ownership
Now back to my thoughts of breakfast............
A froggie.

I like those mirror extenders. I was thinking of just doing the soft bag thing and maybe adding a Ventura rack as I already own the bags and like and use them. So whose after market seat did you folks buy? Is it any good, i am really close to pulling the trigger on a brandy new 1250

I am thinking Sargeant. I have only found two makers for the bandit. The sargeant and Dales Corbin. Search for a recent thread I had on the seat comparison. I'd try to find it for you but the iPhone sucks at that sort of thing. The v-strom hand guards with the oxford heated grips are basic comfort for the not wicked freezing times.

I bought a pre-owned '08 back in the Fall of that year. I changed a few things......added a Holeshot Corbin, new tires, geared it up 2 on the rear sprocket, different handle bars and gel grips, Vista-Cruise throttle lock, chromed the engine covers, and I'm just about to custom paint it.
Very comfy, and very little engine vibes which to me is MEGA important!. Very easy on the eyes and wallet. Great low end torque too. A competent handler with very good brakes. Comes with a center stand and a very quiet exhaust ( a bit to quiet for me though
)
Could use some more top end power and some have minor issues with fuel injection surging. The stock seat is , ummmm, a challenge to sit on for more than 10 miles.
Pretty much any direction you want to head towards ( sport-touring to drag bike), there's plenty out there to satisfy the need.
It's my first Suzy and one I'm glad I own.
Oh yeah, ya don't need to run premium gas either.
