That weekends not good for me either, I'm moving. You guys can come over and help me move instead of going to Bills. See you at 8am sharp. Bring pick up trucks instead of motorcycles.

Chris, I hope you don't mind if I set up a route for us. I'm thinking we can meet at the Ephrata Wawa at 8:30, then a (mostly) twisty route up to Berwick on the Goldmine-125 express, then a little 339, Hawk Mountain route home.

That is, if you guys don't mind following a fat pig FJR. Embarassment

As much as I wanted to make this one, a Labor Day weekend Family(her side) picnic is gonna keep me from attending.. So to keep the peace, I must regress.. Smile

If I nixed the picnic and went with you guys.. I'm afraid her American Indian name ( Five Horses) would come back to haunt me... You know.. .Nag, Nag, Nag, Nag, Nag!

That stretch was crappy to begin with; had to watch for ripples, heaves and driveway gravel.  Now it's consistent crappy.  That's progress; I suppose.

Might be OK by Spring, once the gravel washes off and the potholes get fixed. Twofinger

I can't believe what a good mood I'm in today.  Rolleyes

Thanks for the update though - obviously - you made it through   Bigsmile

I feel remiss now that maybe I was supposed to ask for an invite too instead of just saying I was coming. Hope it's ok. I need an excuse to try out my new GPS and would really like to finally meet a few fellow STNers from PA.

Oh yeah, I'll be riding my piggish FJR too so hopefully the parking lots will be big.  Lol

From Mahanoy City to Zion Grove, and it chips were getting more abundant the further north I went.  I went about a mile north of Zion Grove then turned around and took Ringtown rd and headed west and still ran into more chip-seal

I'm in at this point for Ephrata - same meet-up spot as for Carlisle 2009 I hope, cause that's where I'm headed.
My company landed a major contract for XPRES delivery.  (Can we do it in half the time it takes expedited delivery?)
Hopefully not have to work this weekend.  Shh!  Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make it to ESTN.
Cough, cough, I think I'm getting that icantcme virus.

We can always split into 2 groups.  I pretty much know the way.  I could take the slower group.

Who asks permission anyway?

I'm in at this point for Ephrata - same meet-up spot as for Carlisle 2009 I hope, cause that's where I'm headed.

Yup.

I will be there and bring 2 more riders.  I will be in the slow group.

I also sent Bills an email to see if there is a place we can store our riding gear and to see if cameras are ok.

We'll miss ya Jerry.  I think I'm gonna use your cut-off to miss the north half of 339 on the way back, and just loop around on 924/54 to cut out the lower half and then pick up 1011 & New Phila Rd to Hawk Mt.  Unless I decide to take 42 back to 183 & head south on 419 to 897 from there.

I'll get home somehow - Be easier to find my way if you were leading  Bigsmile Sure you don't want to come along?

Have fun at the outing Cool

Great day, guys. Had a good time with ya'll, great group of riders. It was a pleasure spending the day with some talented riders on some nice twisty roads. I forgot to bring my camera, so no pics from me. Bills Bike Barn didn't disappoint, there was some pretty cool stuff there. I'm sure the rest of the group got some good pics.

It was great to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.

Got home in time to change the oil, lube the chain, get ready for next week.

Had a nice surprise on the way home - PennDOT paved Golden Key Road (863).
It was oiled & chipped in the spring & was just a mess.  I had been avoiding it.
Now it is smooth and clean; a pleasure to ride again.

Only took one photo worth posting.  Caption this...

New surface on 863 from 222 to Red Road (the cut-over to 737).  Don't know how much further north it goes.
I was coming from Hawk Mt - not paying attention to where I was - then suddenly it's like Aw Sh!t, I'm turning onto Golden Key; then it's like Holy Sh!t, I'm on Golden Key!

Yo Jerry - maybe if an open weekend comes up later in October, you, me, Jeets, Silverhound, + whomever can do a rerun up Golden Key, over Hawk Mt, over 895, up 125.  Except 895 is kinda crappy now, they did one of those half-lane paving jobs on it.  It's still very ridable, but you really have to maintain lane discipline.  Maybe we can head up Philadelphia road & 339, after they resurface it.  Yeah, now I am dreaming...

Sounds like a good ride to do in October... Wadda ya mean lane discipline?..  EEK!  Thats my middle name!  Rolleyes  Lets talk about it at ESTN

Hey...Thanks Con! I enjoyed meeting you and everyone else too and I'm usually a loner. I've found that when a group that size gets together there is usually one person that's an a-hole...but everone was cool...which of course could also mean that I was the a-hole of the group.  Crazy Crap!
