Safe home 2 - - no deer, or Xmas trees.

But who was that masked man with the silver beer keg?

You must stay with the times.
The mask is the most modern antifogging device for spectacle wearers and the 'keg' is the hydrogen seperator...the fuel of the future...notice how that contraption never refueled? Bigsmile

I'm hoping that my bike will be here by Christmas and the wx holds out so I can make a couple of rides.Otherwise I will go crazy thinking about riding my new wheels.

Now you know after saying this, the first snowstorm will arive with you're bike.

I went on my first ride w/ this group Thumbsup...man they were real hard asses about the 'rules' Bigok...Doc (and he is a dictator) said something about amending the rules...no bikes bought (goes by delivery date) after today will be allowed to join the rides.

386 miles door-to-door - not bad for a December quickie ride.

I knew it was going to be a good ride when Doc came into the Citgo with his knee down and then did a legs-over-the-bars stoppie at the pump.

A great day for a ride, and a great bunch of guys to ride with.  Thanks to all for not leaving this newbie-again rider in the dust.  I find I can extend my envelope a smidge with good riders in front - which includes everyone who rode today.  Still getting my tiltometer calibrated.

As for the bike with the nitrous tank ("the New model"), I was more impressed with the exquisitely crafted billet kickstand extender Bigsmile.

Here's one shot of our group.  I forget who was on which Softail or Glide, sorry.

Excuse the pic quality, major cropping from small p&s digicam.

Sounds like everyone got home without incident. Ken got the "Long Distance Award" for the ride today and Don had the largest fuel capacity of anyone. My ST only has 7.76 gallons. Thanks to all for a great day. I will post the Ride Report shortly in this thread. Bigok

Hurry up Doc Bigsmile Embarassment...I'm bored at work.

I also want to make clear to all that Doc isn't really a dictator.....he is a toothless Lion looking for some ripe but forbidden fruit w/ a limp to hunt.

I don't know, I had to beg for the rule of "must have hard luggage" to be bent to allow me to ride.

I knew it was going to be a good ride when Doc came into the Citgo with his knee down and then did a legs-over-the-bars stoppie at the pump.....and I think i saw him do burnouts when he was sweep...thought no one was watching.

  Still getting my tiltometer calibrated.

See how all the old fart bikes (sorry but that includes the connie Bigsmile) have curb feelers...they are actually tiltometers.
As for me I just pray a lot Smile

OK, I've posted a (very long) trip report with pics, as well as thoughts on my first group ride in 13 years.

It's biased from my point of view, of course  Bigsmile

Great report. I glad you had a good time. With heated gear we WILL be out again soon.

Doc, I think Ken has upped the bar on ride reports (prose, pic, links). You might need to have Tom give you some additional computer training to top this.

Wow great write up Ken!

I really wish I could have made this ride, but the way I felt this weekend there was no way I could have done a 400 mile ride. Naturally I felt great this morning in time to go back to work Angry3

I've been on a few of the roads 519, 23, 97, great riding Inlove
