I'm still in.  I'm inclined to meet nearby our location around Princeton [Shell station on 571] or up 206 a little around Hillsborough [7-11 near Amwell Rd].  If Doc is going too, maybe we'll meet up with him closer to his home [the infamous exit 12?].

Time: maybe around 10.  If Doc is in we may need to start earlier?

I'm good to go for tomorrow guys. Rendezvous point should be dependent upon which direction we are heading for the day. If you two are going Northwest, then the Citgo Station at Johnny's (exit 12) would be a good choice. Let me know what time you will arrive there.

Weather.com is calling for 39 degrees and sunny by 10:00am in Clinton and 49 by 2:00pm not counting the windchill factor. Time to plug-in eh!

Man I miss riding with you guys. My bike is still resting after bambi decided to run me over. I can't even figure out how to get the darn footpeg bracket off. Headscratch I do not know why Honda made everything hard to rplace on the bike. I am trying to sell it as is for $3,000, if I don't get any taker I will just spend 800.00 bucks or so to replace the plastic. I feel almost like Trevor(jetset) 3 weeks after babi hit me on the bike, it happened in the car also. Well I hope all is well.

We miss you too. I've been speculating that the bike was fixed but you weren't riding. Sorry to hear that it is still screwed up. Do you have a service manual? That normally gives me enough info to fix things. I'd be happy to ride up your way to give you a hand.

And what's this about a second Bambi accident? I hope no one was hurt.

Miss you too, Dude. You could really ride that thang. Showed me the way thru the twisties, but if anyone ever says a bad word about the VFR in a Mag it is that its a complex, tighty packaged motorcycle. my bike is simple by comparison; inline four one radiator, etc. Wish I had some magic fix. Are the VFR forums any help with suggestions or parts for sale. I forget whats wrong besides cosmetics? Anyway, I know a little about how you feel. I could'nt ride sunday after investing in some cold weather gear and I was bummed Sad. Anyway good to hear from you. Steve

Boxerdawg, ERR, and I met at Johnny's and headed out to Belvidere for Brunch at Uncle Bucks. The dawg took a very circuitous route via some county routes in order to work up an appetite and get the rubber warmed up. Parking was uneventful in town despite the arrival of St. Nick across the street. After breakfast we caught a few pics with the seasonal celebrity. (see Post # 28 this thread)

The trio crossed the river and headed out to Martins Creek for some tight twisties, then up through Bangor and Pa 191. Crossing the Appalachian Trail we shot over to the gap via some backroads and crossed back at Columbia into the Garden State after cruising down the Delaware Scenic Drive.

Since the sun was still high in the sky, we elected to return to some of the more interesting roads in rural Warren County including the infamous "Shades of Death." Stopping for fuel and a beverage at the local gas station on 521, we spent a few minutes chatting up and kicking some tires with a couple of other sport bike types before heading for home.

I arrived home prior to sundown with only a 137 miles on the clock, but with a feeling of satisfaction. Who knows when our next outing will be. Great day Dave and John. Thanks Bigok

Well about 2-3 weeks after the accident I hit a deer with my car. I was only going about 25mph when I made contact with it. I think they have me pegged. For the bike I need to raise about $825.00 for the fender, front cowl, and left fairing and all the little plastic pins and bolts Sad. the items I can't do on my own since I am not a wrencher is getting the darn foot peg bracket off. It seems that there is one long bolt(screw) that goes in one side of the bike and threw the footpeg, swingarm, and other side footpeg all this to get one footpeg off. Headscratch Also I need to re-bend my gear shifter and I do not have a vice. I have have an extra bracket but I do not even know if I have to go threw the trouble, can you bend back a footpeg bracket? I do have a service manual but I am not too good with mechanical things only a knife Bigsmile
If any one would love to help with gearshifter or footpeg bracket let me know my door is always open and a good chat and cold ones is always a +++
I will get the plastic from ridenow powers sports in March if nobody wants to buy it in the current condition. I would love to get the new Kawi Concord or Sprint. I would always LOVE the VFR though.
Thanks, Greg

Hey; glad to find you guys. I've posted a time back, but no replies. I live in Englishtown; and wife and I most always go the hour ride thru lawrenceville to Washingtons Crossing, that's kind of our starting point. We ride 579N to Philipsburgup 519 or 521N towards High Point rt 23. Cross Port Jervis up 97N thru Narrowsburg into Penns towards honesdale to 402S back to 209S to River road -Del wat Gap. 611S cut off along Penn side of river(great bike road) backto 611S to 32S Aquatonk road back to wash cross, then home. near 300mls; but well worth it. Of course we dont always ride that far(esp. winter). I'm riding a 06 BMW K1200Gt (Love it!); Wife rides a Road King. You see where there's conflict. I'll usually go out my self for a spirited ride before hand. if you all getting together again, give a shout.

Welcome back Howie. Keep an eye on this thread. Our rides are usually on Sunday, but quite a few of us can get out on Saturday. There are even a couple riders who sneak out during the week.

This Central NJ group consists of a very diverse group of rides and riders. Our mission is to enjoy the sport and the company of each other. I have yet to smell the aroma of testosterone/estrogen during one of our outings despite the sometimes spirited pace. Most of us are over 30 and certainly way past trying impress others. Safety will always override speed. Thumbsup

Your question will prompt me to re-post our Ride Rules shortly. Stay tuned.

My testosterone dried up long time ago.
I remember the ride rules from before the site change. Thumbsup
I have an sv1K and an 86 r80rt...sv for fun and rt for long rides...just that it looks like this group does both...I can't stay on the sv for 400 miles!

     Road Rules and Tips

1.)   Ride your own Ride. This is not a race and there is no prize money.
2.)   Do not pass anyone in the group unless they ask you to pass them.
3.)   Use you own “lines” through the corners and don’t assume that the rider in front of you is any more experienced than you are.
4.)   Please, no crowding each other; a minimum 2 second interval under absolute ideal conditions or more if necessary. Staggered formation in the straights and on the highways.
5.)   Keep an eye on the person behind you as well as in front of you. If you don’t see the rider behind you in your mirrors, then reduce your speed so they can maintain visual contact. If the group makes a turn, make sure that the rider behind you can see you execute the turn. If not, then wait at the corner.
6.)   The concept of “Pace, Space, and Sweep” always applies. The first bike sets the pace, the second the sets the interval and the sweeper will pull over if any one in front of him gets in trouble or has a problem.
7.)   You own the whole lane from the center stripe to the fog line; use it in the corners with a prudent margin of safety. There is no excuse for running wide.
8.)   The “Main Road Rule” always applies. If you have lost sight of the bike in front of you, please stay on the main road and don’t make any turns.
9.)   If you are trying desperately to keep up with the bike in front of you and you are losing ground in the corners, allow the bikes behind you to pass in a controlled manner at your command. We have never left anyone behind.

Disclaimer:  Safety is of paramount importance. The rides are well planned and executed to the best of our ability. Motorcycling is a very unforgiving sport. If you or someone else makes a mistake, you can pay for it dearly. To ride means that you have accepted the responsibility for you, your passenger, and the group. There are situations that arise where we can enjoy a spirited pace, carve some corners, and shred some asphalt; but not at the expense of group safety. Stunt Riders, Adrenalin Junkies, and the undisciplined need to find a different venue.

Doc

P.S. Please check your tire pressures and fluids before each ride. Be fully fueled and ready to ride at "kickstands up."
