One zip tie, a screw and some thread locker. Not bad for a recall.
Now Honda's VFR12 and Aprilia's RSV-4 replaced whole motors! That's a manly recall!

This could cost Ducati over $300 for these national recalls!

Do we have any data on the gas tanks? Are they also made by Acerbis? Do they also appear to be made of nylon? Is there any reason to think that they will be dimensionally stable when subjected to time and gasoline?

Why do you think Ducati wouldn't have learned about tank issues?

Some of the older Multistradas had this problem. By no means all of them. (Mine for example is fine at 22K miles and 6 years of age). Ducati has been well aware of the problem in Multistradas for at least 3 years. I doubt they would forget to look into it.

From the link:
"Certain Ducati Multistrada 1200 models may have the wrong screw installed into the steering head. Instead of an M8x28 10.9 screw, some models may be using an M8x25 8.8 screw. The steering head may loosen because the screw is the wrong length and
diameter
."
I think they mean the screws are the wrong length and
strength
. If the info is right on the sizes, they are both 8 mm diameter. 10.9 and 8.8 are the grade or strength rating.
