I know some of you are familiar with this area of Vermont, so I taught I would ask for guidance.

Will be touring for 4 days in Vermont with my brother and I would like to stay in the Montpelier or Barre area for the period.  Will use the place as a home base for a few rides (1 day loop).

Can you recommend a Motel or Cabins or B&B that would be motorcycle friendly in this area ?
Priority is a fairly quiet place not too far from restaurants and affordable.

Thanks !

Twin City Motel.  Spotlessly clean, owner and his wife run the place, his wife cleans the rooms!!!  And not only is is an ex Canuk he is a Goldwing rider.  I can't say enough about how nice the owners were and how clean the place was.  He even put rags on our bikes for us to wipe them down in the morning, and has allowed bikes to park in his own garage in the rain.  His house is right behind the motel.   Rate with tax was $70, rooms are a bit small, but have everything you need.

Great dinner/breakfast restaurant just 1/4 mile down the road.

DO NOT stay or even go to the Days Inn trust me!

marc11,

Thank you for sharing the idea of the Twin-cities motel in Barre, Vermont.
We stayed there 2 nights and it is pretty much what you had said.

My only complain is that it is close (60 to 80 feet) to a main road (route 302) and the noise bothered us until midnight, inluding large trucks.  I had to wear earplugs to sleep - your mileage may vary on this issue Smile

Yes it was close to the main road.  The nights we were there the road was very quiet after 9 PM.

Maybe the beers at the restaurant had something to do with it? Bigsmile
