Anyone here changed their fork seals on a Sprint st 1050 ?  I have done them on older bikes and thinking i can do them on the triumph. I ordered the factory ones as i know they last 20,000. I think the fact that i tied the front end down for several days on a trailer recently my have attributed to there demise. Any info or suggustions would be appreciated!  RCR

Just noticed your post...Bit late sorry!

Changing the seals on a ST is no biggie if you've done it before. You'll need the seal driver, and a fluid measuring device, but other than this no special tools. Don't forget to order a new copper crush washer for the damping rod bolt at the bottom of the leg, and the o ring seal for the top cap while you're at it. I did bushings as well, but it's up to you.

The hardest thing for me was getting the bike supported properly. I ended up using some auto jack stands and a steel rod through the engine mounts at the back and a pit bull stand on the front. I also use my bicycle work stand to hold the leg when I'm working on it, soft jaws and it rotates....very handy!

I ended up taking off the entire front fairing as I had the time, but I don't think you need to do this.

Here are the torque settings:
Handlebar mounts: 26Nm
Upper/Lower fork Pinch Bolt 20Nm:
Fork Top Cap: 30Nm
Spring rod to top clamp: 22Nm
Damping Rod lower bolt: 24Nm
Axel Pinch Nuts: 20Nm
Front Axel: 61Nm
Caliper Mounting Bolts: 40Nm

Hope this helps...

Yep! little late but thanks !  All done and working again, used 15 wt oil . Came apart and went together easy !  held the rear of the bike down with a couple cement lags in the floor and tie downs on the rear handle. Didn't remove the fairing, was easier to tighten them up, then loosen them and drop them out!  All good it feels better !  Thanks   RCR
