I'm thinking of adding engine guards but I'd like to find some that will accommodate some form of highway peg.

I've looked at the Touratech engine guards but I'm not sure they would hold hwy pegs.

I found other links a while ago but I can't seem to find them now.

Anyone have any suggestions?

H-B doesn't seem to make any guards for the R1200RT...

They make what looks to be a well engineered guard but I'm not sure it would accept a highway peg...

Have these on my GS and love them.  They'll fit an RT too.

Or these from Wunderlich.  They, too, do not support highway pegs.  But then, do you really want to look like an H-D poser?  Put pegs on the bike and the next thing you know, you're trailering to Daytona...  Razz

I'm not looking for typical shiny highway pegs.  Just something to rest my feet on and stretch the legs on long hauls.

Ah... that's what they all say.  Next thing ya know, it's long leather tassels on the hand grips and an orange and black do-rag.   Wink Lol

I ran with Wunderlich bars and Elf pegs on the cylinder heads for a couple years on my RT. I later removed the Wunderlich bars from the RT, but not because of problems with the pegs.

Do you have a pic of the set-up?

I use wunderlich crash bars and Sahara pegs on the valve covers.  Google sahara pegs to see a picture.  The fold up and are basically invisible when not being used.  You do not need to remove the wunderlich crash bars to remove tupperware or valve covers (for adjusment)  That's a big plus in my opinion.

Those Sahara pegs are exactly what I was looking for.

Not really much of an engine guard, but this looks like a reasonably good highway peg:
