RMNP to Gunnison National Forest Route

A question for the Colorado locals as to a good scenic route from Rocky Mountain National Park to Gunnison National Forest in mid September? I will end up traveling over to the Million Dollar Highway after Gunnison but just wanted the input of local knowledge of some good routes.
Thanks

Dos... I would probably take this route... scenic and two wheeled friendly. 390 miles. If you find this is too long, ride parts of it as you make your way.
