Wow, in a few weeks I'll pass the 16th anniversary of buying my GPz new in September 1995.  It's been a good run, and I hope to have it another 4-5 years.  That's a long damn time to have one vehicle.  83K miles on it and going strong thanks to a massive investment in parts & service last year.

Rock on! Congrats. Thumbsup

I just took the wheels off mine last night to get fresh rubber put on. I'm ashamed to admit the battery was mostly dead from sitting. I've been commuting mostly and the Goldwing is much better for that boredom.

Congrats on the anniversary and your admirable loyalty in a land of fickle bike-swapping... oops, sorry, no need to get offensive.

Seriously, cool bike...

One of the ones I should have bought somewhere along the way and it just didn't happen.

The only thing I've kept that long are a few of my knives and the kids... and I'm thinking about trading the kids in.

You're kind of weird.  Bigsmile

Maybe I'll wash it and take some photos this weekend.  I can't remember the last time I washed it.  Got to be over two years.  I used to keep it pretty clean, too.

It looked like this circa 2003:

Always liked that GPz - might have ended up with one if the insurance wasn't in a higher category than my Bandit 1200 at the time I got it.

Kinda funny - when you said 16 yrs I somehow pictured something much older.    I don't really think of bikes from the mid/late 90s to be "old."    Guess it's just me......

Insurance was a huge challenge for this bike in the first few years.  The damn model number "ZX1100E" made the insurance companies think it was a ZX-11.

I washed it today!  Didn't take any pictures though.  Looks spiffy, but the pipes need to be polished.
