Maybe I'm just a little different, but YES, I wouldn't be understanding if someone moved my bike. If it's not where I left it, it's effectively theft. For all I know, whoever moved it over 3 spaces was interrupted as they were occupied pushing it out of the lot. As well, no matter how well meaning (just like Rogue's issue), what happens if they put don't put the stand down sufficiently, or drop it during the move? All the best intentions can end in damage to my bike, or damage to the guy moving it if it falls on them.

Now, if I came upon someone moving my bike in PROCESS... I'll be confrontational with every intention that they will immediately walk away or subsequently be dragged away. At that point, I'll defend my property and kill you where you stand if you don't desist. Wouldn't be likely to shoot someone in the back if they ran, but you can be damn sure I would put them down if they didn't.

Why is it gun or run? Many of you talk about resorting to guns at the drop of a hat. I'm not an anti-gun person at all,in fact I have an enviable collection of fine steel. But I don't carry and believe in the old fashioned ass whoopin' for general purposes reserving gunplay for when only the best will do. Delivering a good beat down is easier and cheaper to defend in court and hasn't resulted in any jail time yet.

Defense of property is justified in most jurisdictions. Scope of force used can tip the scales on a case by case basis...

I once saw a sticker that said, "Mess with my bike and I'll f*** your dog."   Crazy I didn't move that bike.  I didn't even think about it.

Because if someone is willing to engage in grand theft auto, I have no illusions that they won't be willing to put me in the hospital. It's an equalizer, nothing more. I'm not trained to fight physically, and I know people that are. I'll not be letting them get within arms reach of me.

Ah, but I did't say I 'd go FIND him afterwords and do that. I'd only be about the confrontation if I was THERE when it was happening. Way different matter.

Whip out something bigger, like a howitzer or missile.
