After putting 10,000 km on the KTM I can officially say ....

I Love This Bike !!!!  Chili Chili Chili

Yes ... I do !!  Most fun motorcycle I have owned.  Thumbsup

Happy me !

Sure, I could use an inch higher seat and some bar risers for off road. But other than that, she fits me very well. Is good for 500 mile days and goes anywhere I want to. The 200 mile range is adequate and  I can pack a ton of gear for camping or go light.

Maintenance is different but my last oil change took me about 1 hour and was easy peasy.  The Mefo Super Explorer/Hidenau  rear/front tires are pretty good, except for very fast twisties in the wet where  they do not inspire huge confidence. But as an all round  tire with great tread life ... damn good.

Yep, ... happy.

Must look away from this temptation; remember chain lube vs. shaft drive.  Whew, feeling better, now.

Buddy has a 990R Adventure and he says it's a KLR on steroids (he means that as a compliment has he loved his Kawi, but hated it's pokey nature on the street and weight offroad).  I keep looking at 990 ADV's and going, "hmm."

Glad to hear the oil changing isn't as awful as others have made it out to be.

You sure? I'd prefer to lube a chain than deal with the dreaded esplodin FD..

Congrats on the new ride!

A buddy of mine recently purchased a 990 Adventure after being a longtime KLR owner/rider.  He likes to say, "What seemed fast on the KLR now seems slow on the KTM."

He kept his KLR for he can never part ways with it.

I too love my 990 and regarding the seat, send yours to Renazco Racing.  It's the BEST money I spent on my Adventure.

Many happy miles to you.
